I'm thinking of getting a ps3...

I'm thinking of getting a ps3 but I have some questions about the system and hope someone can answer them.

Q. How much memory do games like Final Fantasy 7 - Crash bandicoot and whatnot take up from the console's hard drive, I'm thinking of getting the 320gb system but I need to know what the average game file sizes are.

Q. What's the online gaming like, I Occasionally use xbox live which runs pretty smoothly with most games, I know online gaming is free with playstation but does it suffer from any major problems?

Q. This one may seem stupid...I know it has a built in blu-ray player but I don't bother with those, will the system run normal DVD's?

Games will differ in size, but for a PS1 game, if they were 1 disc games then no bigger than 700MB (size of a CD). Can't really say anything about online, I don't really bother. And yes, it plays normal DVD's :).

Anything over 100gb means you'll never have to worry about space unless you install PS3 games or download them. Online is really good.Community for certain games are usually bigger unless it is a game that came out first for Xbox. So something like CoD has a bigger online base for PS3.

ff7 has 3 cds every cd about 700mb
so yeah ps 1 games dont take that much of space and if you are not going to install 20+ games and do use the blu rays too 320 gbs are more than enough
online is great and with playstation plus you can get 10 games for free (with every month a new game being downloadable)

I have 5 saved files from the the 5 PS1 crash games all on my PS3. It's only 80 GB. Plus, I have all the metal gear solids, Rachet and Clanks, Jaks, and so many other PS2/Ps2 titles. I't maybe under one GB of my storage.

However, my PS3 is from when MGS4 came out (about 4 - 4 1/2 years ago) and it's showing it's age. I can't manually eject discs anymore. It freezes a lot. So, won't happen for you (especially getting a new one) for years.

don't play Skyrim on PS3. THIS.

I bought the very first Ps3 version with the 60GB and it still works fine. No problems found yet

Q. I have a lot of PSN games, plus some full games. and still have plenty of space on my 320GB. Tip get PS+ it is well worth it! So many free games!

Q. The only real difference is no cross game chat. Other than that online works great.

Q. Yes it will play normal DVDs

Get the 320 GB version of the PS3 and get a PS+ membership. You won't regret it. Considering you already have xbox live and a 360, I would recommend you really focus on the exclusives then choose the 3rd party games based on which console you prefer gaming on the most. I know I prefer shooters on the Xbox but fighters on the PS3, so it'll be up to you on third party games.
