My main problem and only problem with this game is that custom games and forge are pretty dead.

Everyone is still getting used to the game so they can't possibly be tired of the standard stuff yet. Once people play the built in levels and game types enough then you'll see more activity there. Also I'm not sure what kind of custom levels would be built this soon after the release. I mean unless you've been playing non stop you don't know the right way to do things like balance weapons and set spawns.
I honestly don't like the idea of choosing your own load outs. It's not Halo in all honesty. I always took everyone being on a level playing field as something that was really important too the game. If you encounter someone that's 10 feet away right when the game starts someone shouldn't have an edge because they have a certain load out.

I would agree with this. Halo trying to be more like CoD will ultimately just see people go play actual CoD and not retain those who like Halo and loathe CoD.
I think my main gripe with the game is Master Chief can sustain running for like 4 seconds, and then he stops. I'm sure Spartan II armor is heavy, but for all the walking and jumping he does with the shit on, he could run for at least a full minute. What a utterly terrible decision to limit the running. Zero reason for it. This isn't a Big Daddy here, it's Master Fucking Chief.
Covenant Carbine is still the optimal go to gun IMO, as far as "often available" guns go.

No, I mean 343 kind of ruined custom games and forge. They removed gametypes, and the forge maps are pretty horrible. Hopefully new gametypes are added for custom games soon.
And they still have Slayer Pro. I haven't played it yet, but isn't that classic Halo slayer? I honestly don't mind the loadouts. BR and DMR are still the weapons I use and you unlock them at a low rank.

If anyone happens to have Smartglass, use it while playing. It's awesome.

Agreed, in reality it doesn't make that much of a difference but I dislike the direction they may go with it, I can only hope it proves to be unpopular and 343 choose to go back to the classic Halo balance.

No, that would be bad, there are already enough situation where people run out into the Battlefield without thinking things through and manage to get away with it because they can just run away as fast as possible, that would be a lot worse if it was unlimited. There is actually a perk which you can use for unlimited sprint.
Also, for anybody who cares apparently the perfection medal is no more, I have gone at least 15 kills and no deaths in 2 of my games so far and didn't get the medal, that disappoints me.

Really kinda want to get it as i've never properly played a Halo game (hadn't ever had an XBox until this year) and only played Halo 2 I think for like 15 minutes once. How is this game?

McQueen, start with Reach. Not only does it have the best single player, but also the best multiplayer.

Re: Halo 4 - Nov. 6th, 2012 (Forward Unto Awesome)
Yeah Reach is the best Halo by far, the squad of spartans you fight with are all awesome characters. I always found master chief horribly dull compared to alot of spartans in the universe.
Forge will pick up as soon as Roosterteeth start doing Horse maps
