Max Payne 3 aside this year hasn't been all too flash for new games. Sleeping Dogs was decent but nowhere near as good as the GTA games. Last year had Uncharted 3, Arkham City, LA Noire and 2010 had New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption and AC Brotherhood

Agreed somewhat. I was pissed when they announced the setting was the American Revolution and I still am, because I don't think it's the best setting for an AC game, but I've lightened up on that a bit and I am enjoying what I've seen of it. I want a setting closer in nature to Italy (not Italy again, though) than the US war theme, but this isn't the last game, according to the developers, it's only closing off the current story, so maybe we can get another good setting down the line. What I have seen is definitely better than everything in Revelations put together, so I don't think you need to worry about AC III being less of a game than that piece of crap. This is more of a full fledged experience as opposed to a cash grab before the real big game comes out like Revelations.

Plenty of good games have come out this year and still has some to come. Hell, every year I only buy a few games which I know I'm going to like so every year feels the same in quality to me.

Gotten to because OUR COUNTRY WILL FINALLY BE FREE.
I still fail to see why you want Europe agaain. It would literally be the same landscape.

Really? I'd struggle to name 10 good main console releases from 2012. Mass Effect 3, Max Payne 3, Darksiders 2, Sleeping Dogs, Borderlands 2, and Dishonored. That's almost literally everything, and Christmas is just as sparse.
AC3, Halo 43489095436 and Call of Duty 9809827139862498199. What a great Christmas line-up.

Stop with this "gotten to" shit. I'm just not very big on American history. That's all. It's the same reason I wouldn't want a game set in China or Africa (ancient Egypt excluded) or something, I'm less interested in that portion of history. I can handle it as a setting, it's just not my first choice. Geez. I like settings like Renessiance Italy, medieval/1800's England, ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, etc. I'm not American, so maybe it has something to do with the fact I don't like them pandering to Americans, just like everyone else does.
If it's a different city (a different country, at that, too), it's a different landscape so I don't know what you mean by that. In AC II, Florence looks nothing like Venice and in Brotherhood, Rome looks nothing like them, and in Revelations, Constantinople looks nothing like them. What are you talking about, have you even played the games?

Agreed.
Yes, it's a huge jump, just not one I'm that big on. If they went to ancient Egypt/Greece or something, that'd be a huge jump too and I'd be ecstatic. American Revolution? Not that interesting of a time period. To me. Maybe to Americans, maybe to other people, I don't find it that interesting, personally. I'm still going to love the hell out of the game because it's Assassin's Creed but I'd love it even more if I loved the setting as much as I did in II and Brotherhood.
The one thing I'll give the American Revolution is it beats the shit out of World War II. I heard that was discussed as a setting and good god, BORING. I'm glad they at least went with the more interesting American time period.
The one American time period I am a huge fan of and would've loved to have seen is, I don't know what they call it officially, but the Gold Rush/Old West period. I would've LOVED an AC game set in the old west, but if they did that, I guess it just becomes Red Dead Redemption with hidden blades.
