Which was to be expected, since Ezio came after Altaïr, it would only make sense if they improved their main character, in all things, and that's exactly what they did.

Can't wait for Wednesday to come!! And to think there are a lot of people who already have the game and probably already finished it.

In the first game Altair was a little, lets say bland but the fact that visually he was a carbon copy of Desmond in a hood (at least they explained that through animus stuff) and the American accent really bugged the crap out of me. I started to like him more once I played through Revelations and got to learn more about him.

AC1 was by easily my favorite of the four games to play.

AC2, ACB, and ACR were basically the same game with small features added. I don't see why anyone would buy AC2 and ACB instead of AC1 and AC2.

Because AC 2 and AC B are actually good stories and the gameplay is good. AC 1's gameplay is uncomfortable, choppy, stiff, whatever word you want to use, the setting is thoroughly bland and uncolorful, Altair is a horrible, dull, uninteresting character and there's nothing gravely important about the Desmond story in 1. Anything you need to know is already there in 2, the Templars/Abstergo are an evil organization trying to control people, the Assassin's are trying to stop them, they use a machine to allow you to live your ancestors lives, bleeding effect, piece of eden, yadda yadda yadda. You might as well just read a recap of AC 1 because you won't miss not playing the game.

Yeah, there was a huge jump from AC 1 to AC 2 in style, and there wasn't from AC 2 to Brotherhood and Revelations. I wonder why? Maybe it's because AC 1 was a broken system and AC 2 wasn't. You don't break your formula once you've found out what it's supposed to be.

Also, if anybody's interested, there's a Youtuber I found named FusionCap who's running an AC III playthrough on his channel, he got the game early. He uploads frequently, so if you're bored and want to spoil a bit of the game, or you won't be able to play the game because you're low on money right now, you can watch it now. I'm making my way through sequence 1 but I'm gonna stop when I get to sequence 2 because I don't want to just blow through everything and have nothing to do when it comes out. Looks really good, though.

I still don't think I'll like this game as much as I did 2 and BH. For me, the series is about Ezio, Italy, the Reinessance, this whole American War crap doesn't do anything for me and Connor looks like a boring character. Hope it will be at least better than the craptastic Revelations.

Just checked it out. The environment and everything looks dull. Really not digging the setting nor the characters. I miss the colorful Italian architecture and art style, also miss the Italian accents.

Yeah, I agree with your opinion on Altair. The American accent, mostly, ruined his whole credibility in the first game. Everyone had an Arabic accent yet he talked like your typical American.

AC1, AC2, ACB, and ACR all looks nearly exactly the same. Thank god we don't have another game with 9000 of the same buildings copied and pasted. I also don't remember really any characters from the past games since they all seemed so boring to me. IMO AC1 did the best with characters. The Templars were great in that game and made them not completely straight out evil guys.

The setting is dull? I disagree completely. They stepped up their game with the frontier, seasons, all new kinds of exploration, and lively cities this time around.

I feel like you don't want to like this game, but I don't know.

I will go into this game with an open mind, however. Maybe I'll like it, maybe I'll love it. This year was incredibly bad in gaming, haven't really enjoyed a game since Max Payne 3, the ones released after that were all meh or couldn't keep my interest enough to finish them. AC3 is one of the very few games coming out this year that have the potential to be one of my favorite games of 2012.
