Re: ASS CREED III - October 30th, 2012....Bye Ezio :'(

10 hours 40 minutes in, 28% completion, loving it so far. Enduring those extremely boring first 4-5 hours were definitely worth it. While Connor isn't nearly as good as Ezio was, even more, he's a quite boring character, Haytham was at least charismatic, Connor is as dull as they come, but there's so much to do and the variety in the game, it's really well done. Random rescue missions appearing as you run around, homestead missions, liberation missions, almanac pages and feathers to collect, board games, treasures to find, underground tunnels, assassination contracts, hunting animals, even the Desmond parts are fun, I can totally lose myself in this game for hours even without doing the main missions. The game isn't as good as AC2 or BH, but definitely miles better than last year's Revelations, this game earned it's spot in my top 5 games of 2012 list.

Has anyone else found the boardgames really hard?

Bowls is easy enough and the morris games take a while to figure out but draughts is harder than I ever remember it being irl and fanorona is insane.

Yeah CPU is quite hard to beat, mostly cause it usually plays for the draw. (at least in the morris game)

I only played one morris game and won. I played morris when I was a little kid, so it wasn't really new to me.

Re: ASS CREED III - October 30th, 2012....Bye Ezio :'(

15 hours in, 41% completion, currently at Sequence 11. I'm having a feeling the main story is like a roller coaster ride, some missions are really dull while some are really cool. Still not a fan of Connor's.

Edit: Just finished the game, I'll give it a final score of 7.3/10. Bad optimization ruined this game on PC just like the others with FPS varying from 60 to 20, especially bad FPS drop in Boston and glitchy controls that also caused frustration on more than one occasion. Can't understand why can't Ubisoft produce a good PC port for an AC game like they did with the much better looking Future Soldier earlier this year. Story had its ups and downs and felt that there weren't many epic moments, forgettable characters (besides Haytham, they all were generic and neither of them stood out), unlikeable main character, a not so interesting antagonist and the slow and tedious start of the game (which took around 5 hours) really brough the game down. The variety in environment and fun side quests are a plus, just like the addition of wild animals and hunting, but overall the game was never even close of reaching the bar set by 2 and Brotherhood.

Re: ASS CREED III - October 30th, 2012....Bye Ezio :'(

*SPOILERS*

I just finished the game. Overall, I enjoyed it but it did have a lot of faults. The bugs/glitchy style of the game didn't help, especially during the main missions or when trying to chase an enemy and I was very disappointed when you didn't really get to fight Lee (cutscene) or Haytham (except when you have to throw him into the objects a couple of times before it shows another cutscene). The whole point is to have a big finale and I felt the main story didn't achieve that and I was also deflated with the ending of Desmond's story. I loved the build-up to the Desmond story but the ending I felt didn't achieve anything other than being a mediocre finish to ACIII.

Besides those negative points, I did enjoy the game a lot. I would rank it below Assassin's Creed II (still my favourite AC game in the franchise) and Brotherhood but it is an improvement on Revelations. Connor is never going to compare to Ezio, personality wise but his moves were brilliant and I absolutely loved the combination kills, which were varied. Hunting was fun as was the stealth part of the game (which can be improved) and a lot of the missions were great fun. The introduction of naval ships was a real blast and added something fresh to the franchise.

Haytham was great throughout and I loved the sequences where Connor aligned himself with Haytham temporarily and you saw that dysfunctional father/son relationship, which was entertaining to watch. Lee was also a good enemy but again, the fact I couldn't fight him annoyed me. Also, despite the slow start to the game and the fact it took until sequence 5 to finally play as the assassin, I did like the parts with Haytham in the beginning that would lead to the twist that he was in fact a Templar as I wasn't expecting that.

I'd give the game a 7.5/10 overall. It's a good, enjoyable game but it could have been improved a lot.

ACB doesn't deserve the love it gets simply because their is fuck all to do after beating the story.

^ What are you rambling about? I played Brotherhood for many hours after beating the main story, there was a fuckload of stuff to do.
