Re: ASS CREED III - October 30th, 2012....Bye Ezio :'(
I'm actually still deciding whether I should blow up my budget or not. The money is being saved, but I'm wondering just how much I want to future proof it. I've been going back and forth between a 660 TI, 670 (with factory overclock), 7970, or should I wait for the GTX 700 series. Been going back and forth on the motherboard and chassis as well. I have the processor (i5 3570k). That was never going to change.

To get back on Topic...I don't get the Bad reactions to the setting of AC3. We had plenty of Europe in the last Games, it's Time for something Fresh&Different. For me all the past cities didn't look the same, but still it's something different now taking place in America. Sooner or later they still can go back to a different setting: French Revolution, England, some Old Greek or Egypt setting, Wild West, 1º World War,...Hell, I see AC going one day to our actual Time!

As an American this is by far my favorite setting.
It's one I can relate to the most and just generally intrigues me. Especially how awesome it will be to see who they decide will be Templars out of the Founding Fathers.
That looks absolutely amazing IMO.
Let me rephrase what I said earlier, I didn't mean that the past games were all the same in the general setting, but I feel the environment was the same. Crowded cities with somewhat the same buildings. Colonial America is a complete 180 from that.

I like the setting. I think it's a fresh setting, especially considering the glut of uninspired modern settings gaming has taken to. Colonial America is NOT what people think of when they think of video game settings. I would've liked the French Revolution or Napoleonic France, but Colonial/Revolutionary America is fine with me. I enjoy the history behind it and it's one of the reasons I like(d) these games - because they took settings in history and made it their own. Being a history buff, I wish there were more games like these (and I'm not talking about games set in the 1900s and beyond).

I just want you to know that right now because of this I hate you. Not in the sense of 'Ugh, there is a queue at the bank, I hate that' or the way that Al-Qaeda hates the west. I hate you in the sense that when you were a kid in Nursery/kindergarten and there was that annoying kid who always got to the toy truck first on the break but even though the teacher has said that I will get it in 5 minutes right now I feel nothing but pure abject hate. This will disappear as soon as I get the game myself but right now nothing but pure hate! (ok, a little jealously, but mainly hate)

I don't have a problem with them trying this setting as something completely different for once, this kind of change is needed to keep the series fresh.
If it turns out to be bad however then I want them to try something safer.
