Re: Underrated Games that You Like

Prey - starts off as a pretty average and cliched FPS, what with your girlfriend being kidnapped by aliens and all. But persist, and the game positively goes from average to awesome, especially in its second half.

The alien spacecraft which you explore, its otherworldly inhabitants and the kooky weapon models are all so inventive, like nothing you have ever seen before. The game designers took a risk by incorporating native American mythology as a strong focus in the game, but in my opinion, it paid off, giving the entire experience a very poignant and spiritual slant. Best of all, the game charts the main protagonist's personal journey from whiney adolescent to manhood.

As you can tell, I absolutely loved this game - it was a breath of fresh air in a genre inundated with boring military shooters. I even got a little teary at the game's conclusion - it had that much of an effect on me. I was saddened when I heard that the planned sequel is going to have nothing to do with its predecessor.

He is the cornerstone of WWE and he is the reason that this business runs.

Oh my god - Prey!

That's a fantastic game, truly underrated.

This. I find it so much better than God of War. Better combat, better boss battles, the game is over twice as long. Great game that should get more credit.

The second one is good, although I feel the first is better and captures the dark feel better overall. The third is complete garbage.

I agree with everyone who has said Alundra.

Exhumed/Powerslave (PS1/SAT/PC - name dependent on region) - an Egyptian themed Doom clone.
Beetle Adventure Racing (N64) - one of the best racing games I've ever played.
Space Station Silicon Valley (N64) - kind of glitchy but very unique.

The last time I LOVED a game which wasn't exactly recognised as being somethign great and scored mediocre reviews was back in 2008 with Mario Strikers super charged.

Darkstalkers 3- Everyone and their mom was playing SF Alpha games, I was playing this. I personally think that it's better than the Alpha games.

Penny Racers - Loved the customization in this game

Bloody Roar 3 - Anthropomorphic fighters beating the shit out of each other

San Francois Rush 2049 - Loved getting unlockables in this game

Magic the Gathering XBL. I'm not a big a Magic guy as I used to be but the mechanics are so simple that even someone who has never played before will pick it up and enjoy it. Of course, card games are not as popular as they used to be. But MTG will outlive all the other card games and has.
