Re: Underrated Games that You Like

Enslaved: Odyssay to the West - A pretty stellar game IMO, got some good ratings, but underrated by gamers and quickly forgotten.
Vanquish - Just like Enslaved, although not as good.
Viking Battle for Asgard - Average scores and unknown to many, but a pretty fun open world hack'n'slash
Alpha Protocol - Got some pretty bad scores and although it's pretty glitchy and unpolished, it's still a unique espionage RPG with Mass Effect style decision making and skill tree
Bulletstorm - Developers failed to make a profit off this game, but it's so freaking fun, finished it twice, cheesy but funny dialogue and so much more creative and fun than your average military shooters
Dante's Inferno - Most gamers and reviewers called it a God of War clone, but it was a fun and gruesome experience, good voice acting and story telling

Re: Underrated Games that You Like

Condemned: Criminal Origins - gory, visceral, in-your-face, and I loved every second of it. Scary as well.

Split/Second: Velocity & FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage - both scored well, but both seemed to fall off the radar of general gamer consciousness. Speed, wanton destruction and over-the-top arcade racing are supplied by both in spades, and they are easily my favourite titles of the genre.

Unreal Tournament 3 - the core UT fanbase didn't like some of the changes made to the latest title in this franchise, and effectively buried this game. A crying shame, because it is deathmatch perfection.

Duke Nukem Forever - nowhere near as bad as the reviewers suggest. In fact, I'm convinced that game review sites just dumped on this game as part of some warped publicity stunt in order to increase their readership. By no means perfect, this game nevertheless delivers beefy weapons, exciting shootouts, crazy boss battles and wicked one-liners, and I loved it. 3/10? Fuck off.

I enjoyed Bulletstorm as well, and I do hope we get a sequel. Arcade shooters rock.

Yeah, I really doubt they'll make a sequel for Bulletstorm. The ending of the game suggests the sequel, but I doubt they will be making a sequel to a game that failed to make them money.

It wasn't just the reviewers though was it? Gotta admit from what I had seen from it it didn't look as bad as people say it is but then again I hadn't been anticipating it for 15 years, it's mostly about disappointment I suppose.

Re: Underrated Games that You Like

Freekstyle: This was a game I played for countless hours in 2002-2003. GameSpot rated it pretty high. I never really saw (at least in my area) a lot of people talking about it. While the game itself got frustrating at times. I found it to be a very enjoyable title and still do.
