Sony was also clear to note that non-game purchases – such as NFL Sunday Ticket, PlayStation Plus, and more – count towards the total money spent.
So if you’re looking to spend some cash on PSN in October, now you know that there’s a little reward waiting for you. Please keep in mind that this promotion is currently only confirmed for North America. It remains unclear if other territories will follow suit.

Microsoft just looks worse and worse

. So with Sony you're basically spending $80 for $100 worth of content.

Ive been a PS Plus member for a year and I can say its heads and shoulders better than being on xbox live deal wise. I downloaded stuff like Infamous 2, Little Big Planet 2, Walking Dead ep 1 and 2 all for free. I rarely buy games on their but maybe I should. As a plus member you can get Dishonored for a couple bucks off.

The Wii U isn't even out yet and its discount program throttles microsofts.

Still much prefer XBL over PSN and yes I game on both consoles, as for this well don't see that much of an appeal, never spent more than £20 in the store let alone the equivalent of $80 - that's if it even appears in Europe

As someone who rarely buys any games, I take advantage of perks and rentals. Deals and sales rarely bother me anyway. the ps3 is just a blu ray player gathering dust its games and online offer nothing

Exactly how is XBL better than PSN? As a person who's owned all three consoles simultaneously (and will be owning a PS3 and 360 both again) I fail to see the difference, barring the obvious that one is free and the other is paid for. When people state this can they please explain why rather than just saying it blatantly, thus having it come off as pure fanboyish dribble. I see no clear difference as to one being better than the other, both lag and both have other downsides, but to have one just be flat out better than the other just because is just bullshit imo. Now preferring one to the other is a different story entirely, but please don't make fanboy statements without at least a reason, not trying to get on your case, nor was this directed solely towards you, but it's rather annoying to see this same one liner, and vice versa with PS3 fanboys.

I could see how this wouldn't appeal to people who don't do the digital downloads thing that much due to them having shitty net speed, or otherwise, but for people who are looking for a break when buying games regardless of how this is good.

You don't even own those games though. Infamous 2, LBP2 and the Walking Dead are not games you own . Once your PS+ expires you don't get to ply them again. Most of the time PS+ is useless and is a waste of money. With XBL you pay for premium service while PS+ its the same as if you weren't paying for it at all.

Sure you get better deals, xbox sucks at deals but you save about 1$ on most things at least which isn't a big deal imo. I have both PS+ and Xbox live and as a service its miles better but on deals PS+ wins hands down. I also don't really see why people would spend over 100$ on the store just to get 20$ back. Is tehre even enough content to make it to 100$?lol
