Errmmm... yes. Pokemon is one of the biggest and most profitable gaming franchises around and has been for years. LOADS of people of all ages still play pokemon today.
My thoughts exactly. I can't understand how someone over 20 can play Pokemon. That shit was cool when you were 10-12, but looking back, I find it stupid. Maybe if you're a meganerd, I guess you'll play Pokemon, no matter what.

Then color me a meganerd, I've been playing HeartGold again lately.
basically you want the pokemon game we already have, but in 3D? yeah, we've all dreamed of this forever. The same concept would make a lot of games awesome, others not so much (I hate open world racing games). But in cases like where you have to go through a cave with flash; what if you just climbed over it or swam around?
Taking the linear approach (going through a determined set of trainers, dungeons, and gym leaders) would be interesting. Being able to see the wild pokemon from afar and deciding if you want to battle them would be neat too. and stealing a pokeball from another trainer and replacing it with a land mine would be a neat touch as well.
