It actually increased my framerate, confusingly. (Admittedly, that might be the 1.4 patch rather than the texture pack - I've not played Skyrim for a few weeks now.)

Yeah that's 1.4. bringing it. No more slideshow in towns and and a general performance boost.

Mounted combat would've made the game about 40% better. I hope they expand on some of this stuff with mods or - hngggh - DLC.

worse thing is now we have to wait for that. Its weird im more excited about building a house and actually adopting lol. Always thought it was crazy that you can get married but have no kids. I understand they didnt want to Fable it up though.

Might still be in, at a later time, as DLC (free or otherwise). It was made after the game was released, by the Skyrim team during a week where they could work on whatever they wanted, as long as it was something that could be put in Skyrim. Still, some seriously cool stuff.
