Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

You are a true son of Skyrim now.

Also, someone mentioned it before, but I just got the Mace of Balor Org or whatever. It fucking rules.

Did anyone take me up on my offer and try out the Septimus Signus quest? It's called "Discerning the Transmundane" but then it spirals off into the 2nd half. One of the most epic quests ever.

Also, anyone do the Hangover quest yet? "A Night to Remember?"

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

Nope. I was heading towards the 7,000 steps quest and was wandering around and found a dragon I promptly decided to bludgeon to death with my Mace and ended up getting sidetracked on a minor delivery quest so now i'm in Windhelm.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

What is the 7,000 step quest?

Edit: Oh, to High Hrothgar. I recommend doing that ASAP but if you're under level 10, just run past the frost troll. The leveled up Force Shout rocks. So far I have 4 shouts, the two from the main quest and an elemental and a frost shout.

Lydia's dead in my game. We were in some dwemer ruin and we got bum rushed and cornered so while she was fighting them I went Werewolf and killed fucking everything with almost no health remaining. She got caught in the carnage. It's cool, I have Volstag now.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

Got the game Saturday. Playing as a Redguard and at level 8. I was contemplating over being a Redguard or a Khajiit, but I remember I can become a werewolf and said fuck it and went with Redguard. Also it's really fucking hard to turn off the damn game. And I keep getting sidetrack from doing quests. One minute I'll be on my way to a point for the quest, then I'll see a dragon, chased after it, lose it, and come across a town, which that's about to be over run with vampires.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

I just had the most epic fight ever.

So I'm exploring (found Ysgamor's Tomb! Can't wait to explore it next) and I noticed there is a fast travel to a dragon icon, Shearpoint (Northeast of Whiterun), I've never been to. I could fast travel to it so I thought, meh, what the hell. BLOOD DRAGON. Fun fight. After killing it (good loot from the dragon and the giant adorned chest by the shout area), I walk towards the shout area and notice 3 words lit up. Strange...so I go towards and FUCK! This undead motherfucker named KROSIS pops up from a coffin and he's the hardest fucking thing I've fought so far. I had just fought 3 giants and a woolly mammoth that was easier. But remember those three words of shout? All three form one shout called THROW VOICE. After being one-hit KO'd a few times by this huge fireball he throws at me, I finally start using throw voice (maxed out) and it distracts him to where I throw the shout. The fight gets pretty fun from there.

Here's where you guys need to take notes. The loot from him? Holy shit balls.
  • Staff of Fireballs (40 points of damage in a 15 foot radius)
  • KROSIS (his fucking face! Lockpicking, Archery, and Alchemy are 20% better)
  • Imperial Bow of Fear (nothing special, just Damage 13 and fear up to level 10)
  • ~500 gold
If I were playing as a thief, the KROSIS mask would rule. I have a few pieces of armor that increase bow damage and a necklace so I would be pretty well off. Too bad I'm a tank.

Now I'm overencumbered by 100 so I need to drop some of the loot in the chest and come back.

Edit: Apparently by "20% Better" from the Krosis mask, it means EVERY archery/lockpicking/alchemy skill is 20% better. Not just damage for Archery. Awesome. I'm grinding archery so I can get the zoom and slow time.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

Fuck, went to Riften for the Dark Brotherhood intro quests and 4 hours later I've got a bunch of Thieves Guild quests and am raiding manors and stealing shit. I still haven't gotten started on the DB stuff. This game.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

The "night to remember" quest was brilliant, and the reward you get for it is even better! I can't tell you how many times it's saved my arse. The main DB quests are done, as are the Thieves Guild ones. Not sure how I'm gonna get them back to how they were, I assume I'm just gonna have to keep going with the little missions from Delvin.

Hey Sephiroth, where do I find this Septimus Signus quest you're on about?

Oh and I did find that Korsis bloke, but I grabbed the words, jumped on Shadowmere and ran away from him! Might have to go back to grab those trinkets.

My most epic moment so far would be when I was having to shadow a guy for the DB, just as he was about to leave the village a Dragon appeared from nowhere landed on the pub and started breathing Ice on everyone! The whole village (including old women and the guy I was meant to kill) started attacking him and eventually he went down, this game is too good.
