Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim

I have a question...

If I didn't play any game from the series I'll have difficulties with this one?

Thanks!

"A Night To Remember" quest line is probably my favorite in any TES game ever. Amg, so epic.

Re: Your Current Skyrim Game

It's still the same game, so goes into that topic.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim

So Amazon failed to deliver this game for two days running, thanks for that. Instead I just went in to Tesco and got the last copy. Haven't played much, but loving it so far.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim

Anyone who has played Dark Souls, do you find the fighting/gameplay of Skyrim to be anywhere as good or fun as it is in Dark Souls. Are the enemies different enough in their attacks to keep it interesting?

This game looks amazing but some reviews kind of knocked the actual fighting in the game. I'm thinking Dark Souls may have ruined all other similar games for me. Still can't decide whether to get it or not.

Each game takes place in the same conteninent, but each game is a different section of it. Like Skyrim is in the north in the mountains, Oblivion is in the center where it is more civilized, and I forget where Morrowind is located.

Edit: The combat in TES games are different, since they are very clunky, but I find them satisfying. The game doesn't shine because of the combat, it shines for everything else it does right. There is nothing like searching through one of the hundres of caves/dungeons for a few hours and finally finding the secret it is holding.

The first dungeon I explored (Bleak Fall Barrows) was just jaw droppingly good. Wow that was amazing. I was there because of a sidequest (a shopkeeper in Riverside wanted his gold claw back) and then I just kept going further and further into the cave after getting it and ended up getting the first should in the game earlier than I was supposed to. Then I decided to start the main quest again so I could use the shout (no dragons until you fight the first story one, sorry for spoilers), and then the court mage wants me to go back and find what I found in Black Fall Barrows...but then I just whipped it out and the dialogue said "Oh, you mean this?"

*Achievement Unlocks*

That was easy.

As long as there's a Triforce, there will be a Zelda;
as long as there's a prosperous kingdom, there will be an evil bent on destroying it;
and as long as there's an oppressive force threatening Hyrule, there will be a boy...

in a green tunic, silver shield, and magic blade to stand against it.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim

Yeah, I kept plowing through there and got the Dragonstone before it was necessary too, lol.

So, I was just walking around and came across a broken-down castle. Walked inside the gate, killed a ton of bandits, entered the castle and killed some more. Exited the castle, and there's like 5 hired guards in steel armor with enchanted swords who came to kill me. Easy enough, I thought. But then, a fucking dragon swoops down and starts blowing snow and ice on everyone. So, I wasn't aware that dragon battled occurred randomly. I'm only like level 6 or 7, so I just booked ass out of there. Ran right into mammoth territory, of course. Avoided 'em, though.
