Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
100 alchemy, enchanting, smithing, conjuration, heavy armor, block, lockpick, archery, one hand, 2 hand. Thats with my current character. Only magic I really focused on was conjuration.
It does suck Dawnguard hasnt come out for the PS3. 360 has a month exclusive snd its been way more than a month now. Im at the point where I think it should be free for PS3. game already had awful lag issues when it came out now issues with the dlc.
You must have had alot to trade, will always remember going to Gamestop and I wanted Super Smash Bros for N64. I traded like 4 great gsmes and it still wasnt enough. Never feel like the trade value is fair. Skyrim is still 54.99 used I bet if I were to trade in my copy I wouldnt get 10 bucks for it.

I guess the lag time the PS3 is having with is why they have not released the DLC yet, I tend to use my 360 for RPG's and PS3 for action & sports games, although really only play hockey for sports games
Yeah I ahd a TON of games, but they would not take the hard drive I had for it, ended up selling that to a buddy for $50, that had close to 250 games on it, I do miss it now looking back, lol

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Might do that with Bethesda games now. And prob Black Ops 2. Might end up getting a 360 tomorrow from my bro.
if I get Skyrim for 360 and get Dawnguard do you have to finish the main quest first. I heard all you have to do is talk to guards. how do you like Hearthfire CM. does it add tons of hours to Skyrim.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
I've used a mace alot with this play through which I'm just a one handed badass. I've invested the three perk points in Bone Breaker which now ignores 75 percent of armor. BAD-ASS-WEAPON now lol. I also have 3 perk points in Hack-in-Slash which causes bleeding damage with war axes. Now I can put a war axe in my left hand and a mace in my right and if a dragon lands...a dragon dies... quickly. (btw I also have both perks in duel fury and duel savagery)
I've purposely left my bows very weak to make a non-landing dragon a huge challenge. I think I've only put one perk in archery as to not over power myself in long range attacks.
I'm not really sure what I'm 100 in without having my game on right now but here's what I usually do.
Smithing, Alchemy, Enchanting, Illusion, One-handed, Blocking, Light Armor, Sneak, Lock Picking, Pick Pocket, Speech and Alteration.
Most of those just naturally happen. But I have tricks to use for Alteration and speech just to level my character up. I also do alot of pick pocketing to level up. No tricks with that but it wouldn't naturally happen in my game play. I have to just make myself do it... and once you enchant a ring and necklace with fortify pick pocket then it's fairly easy.
100 MUSTS for me are, Alchemy and Enchanting. I used to have to have 100 in Smithing but not any more. I've made my glass weapons strong enough and the Dragon weapons are just too over powered to make the game as interesting as I want. Plus my sword is Chillrend and it's just as powerful as a dragon sword and it can be improved with the Glass perk. So yeah, I'm set as far as that goes.
EDIT- Yeah all you have to do is hear a guard talk about vampires and the Dawnguard quest will start.

You do not have to finish the main quest to play the Dawnguard DLC, basically just adds another home base (two actually to decide if play as a vamp or vamp hunter)
I like hearthfire ofr two simple reasons, first shit ton of storage, I mean a SHIT TON, as you can make chests, displays, mannequins & barrells, and each area of the house workbenchs that you use to build stuff in that section. Second is that you can have in your house a smithing area, I put mine in the basement so I don't have to leave my house to build/modify weapons/armor
Edit: Hey LC can you trasnmit some of your gaming love to my wife? lol

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Yeah I love the storage as well. I'm meticulous with my storage. I have one chest for weapons I want to sell. One chest for armor I want to sell. One container for my Smithing gear *which is in my armory where I can make and improve all of my weapons* one container for my alchemy gear *which is in my enchanting lab of course* one container for all of my ingredients, one container for all my food, a lock box for all of my precious jewels, another for all of the jewelry I'm going to enchant, another for all of the jewelry I wanna sell. I also have a container for all my ore and ingots. A container for all of my leather and pelts and a container for all of my soul gems I don't want to carry with me out in the field.
I use my mannequins and display cases for the weapons I don't use but want to keep...such as special weapons like the Nightingale Blade and Blades armor and so on.
And with ALL OF THAT I'm still only using about have of my containers lol

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Chillrend is my fave weapon after Dawnbreaker. Would use it now but doesnt match with my Daedric outfit now lol. If you really want a challenge play the game only wearing Fine Clothes and a Steel Sword. Beat the game as a Nobleman.
Once I get Hearthfire I guess im gonna have to create a full set of different armor. Just loving putting armor on my mannequins, how many can you have. Being able to Smith in your house is a big deal, no need to go out . For your garden do insects and other things you need fly around. Im gonna be focusing on aclhemy and sneak soon so would be great if I could just work at home gathering ingredients.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Yeah I like going for a certain look as well. Right now I like wearing Nightingale armor. It looks the best. And with my smithing gear and potions I can make that set of armor reach the 567 armor ceiling *which is as good as you can get*... so that armor is just as good as any armor in the game if you can get it up to 567 armor rating. But the problem I have with that is I can enchant that gear the way I want. Right now with my double enchants on my glass armor I can do fortify one handed on several items which makes my Mace/Sword/Axe around 508 damage.... with the Nightingale armor those same weapons are like 375 damage. So I have to sacrifice alot of damage just for the cool look.
btw I invest perk points into light armor early in the game to help my rating go up. My glass armor set is well over 1000 armor rating but anything over 567 is really a waste. It just accumulates the later in the game you get. Those early perk points really helps a one handed warrior though. Now they are useless

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
Well even if you lose some of thag power for looks you should be alright with that, since you seem to think your OP and can.end.dragons quickly lol. I really like using Ebony mail with my Nightingale or Daedric gear. It goes well with it. Just always loved the warning you get while wearing it and how awesome I look crouching and sneaking around.
I hope I have enough perks cuz im gonns need to out some In restoration so I can raise stronger dead especially if Dawnguard comes out soon. There are even more powerful vampires in it right?
Just did a civil war quest to take a fort. I love conjuration. Summon to Dremora, call a dragon and I destroy a whole fort of soldies

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread
That reminds me. I need to finish that Civil War storyline lol I never have! I was about half way through it when I started my second playthrough and have never did that story arc again. I'll have to do that with this play through.
