Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

Can you build Torture Chambers like the ones in the DB Sanctuary in Dawnstar. is there a smithing potion to be made, I always heard you can only buy them and I travel the world for a decent one. I used the Falmer Helmet alchemy trick and wow my potions are worth a ton and help a ton. Maybe next playthrough I will get the purity perk to get rid of negatives snd positives

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

Adopting a kid was annoying. I thought I had to build a room for them in the houses that I built. But all I had to do was buy a room for them in one of the existing houses that I owned around Skyrim. So I just changed my Alchemy desk in Whiterun to one. Now I have a little brat of my own, Aela the Huntress will bring it up right...

Yeah you can do it both ways. I adopted my two children and moved them in my Solitude house before I knew how to buy land.

Time for my Bug in Jar hunt.

Does adopting children add anything at all to the game. Do you have to give them money and gifts sometimes. And im assuming only Nord kids, no Argonian or Khajiit right. Does it cost money to maintsin everything in the house

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

I swear I never got an option to build a child's room for my newly built house, all I could build were small beds, but even that didn't work. Still, I have my kid now and that's enough for me since I'll hardly ever be at home to look after it...

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

They given me gifts before, but since the text that shows up on the top right of my screen gets cut off I don't know what they give. Yeah, unfortunately just nords. It's doesn't cost any money to maintain the house. If your gone for a while they might ask you for money or gifts. But that's it.

TheIllusiveMan did you build the children's chest? Because you need that as well as a bed to move a child in.

Smithing potion use any of the two - Blisterwort, Glowing Mushroom, Sabre Cat Tooth, Spriggan Sap

I had trouble with that when I first got Skyrim, was pretty much my reason to get my new 34 inch television. Was getting quite annoying not knowing what I had picked up, or received from other characters.

God, they get a house, isn't that enough?!

You can fix that in your 360/PS3 set up options. What I had to do was go into Console Settings then Display and change my TV to Widescreen *even though I don't have a widescreen* but by doing that it allows me to see the top and bottom of the screen now in all my games.

Ah, no I didn't. I thought they just brought their own chests with them once they moved in to the house. I'll do that the next time I'm playing.
