Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
I played like a half hour of Oblivion but it bored me to death. Skyrim on the other hand looks awesome, I'll definitely play it.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
I never played Oblivion for a few reasons, but Skyrim looks really good and I'll definitely be getting it. There's about 15 games coming out in september-november though so I doubt it'll be my priority.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
Trying my best to get it on release, maybe even pre-order. Should be heavenly.

Hopefully the game won't be a major let down like oblivion was (for me atleast) i watched all the demo footage from E3 and one thing that kept bugging me was they keep insisting that the dragons have their own AI and don't do the same thing more than once yet i watched 3 walkthroughs, all different and the dragon attacked at the same time and did the same thing, don't know if it was scripted for the demo or because it's "alpha/beta" but i really hope the dragons aren't this scripted, this is one of the main draws of the game for me, and the vastly different dungeons, no dungeons looks the same.. something another game completely failed at *cough DA2 cough*

This times a 1000.
Seriously they just kept saying "we have no idea what the dragons are going to do and then acted shocked when the Dragon did the exact same thing in every preview video....
Reminds me of the early Oblivion hype which ended up being lies. Ie being able to set a table on fire using a spell then being able throw it at someone using a different spell as a legitimate battle tactic. I don't understand why Beth get off so easily for this sort of stuff.
Also Oblivion really did suck compared to Morrowind. I'll give Skyrim a go no doubt if I read good stuff from sources I trust but if the world is as bland as Oblivion I can't see myself getting into it.
Not to mention they have left the levitate spell out again, which is just criminal.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
I really hope they don't dumb down the game for casual players. I want a deep and engaging game, not just some hack and slash Arcade version of Elder Scrolls. I'm sure it won't be though and I will be pre ordering the collecters edition for my 360.
Btw, didn't think anyone was going to reply to this thread at first.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
Yeah definitely getting it. I wanna get the CE but the absurd price had me reconsider lol.
I'm getting the PS3 version coz my PC had past its prime. And I'm worried when it comes to the PS3 version, I heard bad things like choppy framerate issues and numerous glitches back in Oblivion. Does anyone know the game is developed separately or it's just simply a 360 port?

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
Well, I absolutely loved Oblivion for having a good mix of urban and rural areas. You could would be part of a clan, tied up in a great storyline, Lucien Lachance was awesome etc. and etc. I didn't get on with Fallout 3 though. Too much wasteland. Just seemed too bland, emotionless and "WYSIWYG". Just by the video alone I've just watched of Skyrim, I know I'll love this too. Looks amazing.

Re: Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim
I want the collectors edition but I figured with the amount of great games coming out, it'd be more sensible to buy the regular edition and get another game or two instead. I'm so hyped for this though, it's an absolute must buy for me, as Oblivion is my favourite game on 360, possibly of all time.
