You unlock the words by trading in souls.

I didn't get the double enchantment perk, is that what makes the double loop possible? Explain this to me because I have picked up water breathing and fortify sneak 10% helmet. and of course the Ebony mail I FINALLY got from the deadric quest, best shit ever. But I use the bow a whole lot, and I want to put a really good fire enchantment on it.
I don't think you understand how great enchanting a weapon stronger than what you can actually find in the game is. For instance you can find a necklace that ups your archery skills by 30 percent, but if your enchanting is strong enough you can make an archery necklace that ups your archery by 60 percent and so on.

Plus with your enchanting ability up you can make far more powerful potions and you can make stronger weapons when you upgrade them by making a ridiculously stronger blacksmith potion to use while you're upgrading weapons.

And upgrading enchanting is fairly easy by making cool potions, those of which I can give you the recipe. Also if you get alot of petty souls you can up your enchanting by enchanting small weapons/armor/clothes/jewelry. I enchant anything I get with a petty gem and it ups my enchanting skill plus it makes that item worth more when I sell it.

Edit: TGO yeah you unlock your Shout powers by using the dragon souls you absorb. Go to Magic then Shouts and click on whichever shout you want to unlock and use a dragon soul on it. It's pretty self explanatory in that screen.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

so if I up my enchanting to 100, but then drink a an enchanting potion, will that increase my enchanting past 100%? I haven't been able to enchant anything beyond 24% so far. I am a Nord if that matters.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

Yeah it will, YSP. The same thing holds true for Smithing. If you have a legendary weapon you can actually improve on that with a black smithing potion. Just make sure you have the required ingot and use your black smith potion and it'll make it possible to improve your weapon beyond the normal Legendary. Right now I just made a black smith potion that makes my weapons 55 percent better when I improve them.

  • Craft a set of Fortify Alchemy gear at 25% boost.
  • Craft several potions of Fortify Enchanting at 30% boost.
  • Craft a new set of Fortify Alchemy gear at 28% boost with the aid of the potions. Time passes while using the arcane enchanter so move quickly.
  • Craft several potions of Fortify Enchanting at 32% boost using the new set of gear.
  • Craft a final set of Fortify Alchemy gear at 29% boost with the aid of the potions.
So, yeah. You can keep doing this, and also use this method to create a nice Fortify Smithing set of gear, to get crazy powerful weapons and armour. It doesn't take as long as one might think, and even having an extra 50-100% towards Smithing or Enchanting will make your gear crazy powerful. Also, it makes this sort of thing possible:

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

the Student has become the teacher? If you want you could spend days going through that process improving alchemy, enchanting and smithing all together. Creat armor that helps alchemy so you can make a stronger potion that helps enchanting then you enchant another armor and so on. The only potions im good at making are Slow ones. I barely use poison for my arrows, idk why i have so much.

Can you really get enchanting that high where a sword or bow could do 50 plus fire damage.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

and this is all all not modified PC version? I am playing on PS3 if that matters. I was settling down to actually start the Witcher 2, but then all this discussion of enchanting came along and I got back into it. Just when I thought I was out...But thanks guys. I have been sticking with Ebony armor though because it looks the coolest. I won't be able to forge dragon or deadric armor (since I won't get enough Perk points till I max out).

I liked Oblivion better in this case, forging and magic spell forging was a little more simple and easy to manipulate. I had entire suits that would make me 100% invisible and 100% feather. lol.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

I don't know about THAT bow... it looks modded as hell lol. But right now my Daedric Bow while wearing my archer gear is 300 plus damage... all do to my enchanting ability.
