It depends on your play style, Soup. If you don't plan on getting hit then upgrading your armor really isn't necessary. What upgrading your armor does is it upgrades your physical defense. The higher the physical defense the less health you'll lose on successful hits... it also has an affect on the amount of stamina lost on hits as well. Upgrading your shield is really important in my opinion as the more you upgrade it the more stability it adds. The attack stat that upgrades with it is garbage in my opinion... unless you use shield bash which I never have. The only thing I care about is shield stability. The higher the stability the less stamina/endurance you lose on each successful block with your shield. So if you plan to block alot upgrade your shield.

Also, the best way to get the materials is to farm...of course. But if you know a few tricks it helps you. For instance. The slugs down in blighttown is great for farming for a couple reasons. First of all you get large titanite there. But when a slug drops a green titanite it drops them 5 at a time. Green titanite can be fed to Frampt. Each green titanite gives you 5 titanite shards. So for each green titanite drop from a slug it equals 25 titanite shards if you feed them to Frampt.

Also, the Dark Wraiths. You can farm them for Titanite chunks and the occasional titanite slab. Which is great...but if you feed a Titanite Chunk to Frampt he'll give you 3 large titanite in return.

When I face bosses I try to not get hit for the most part but I dont dodge enough. If every fight was like Havels I'd be an expert in dodging though. I tend to block then backstab most hollowmen and knights I come around. I wish I was better at parrying but those damn slow attacks the hollowmen do always gets me.

Once I arrive at Blighttown I'll farm the slugs. Already got the rusted ring so should make traveleing easy. My first time there I did everything not even knowinv bout the ring.

I feel you. I hate the slow attacks. In both DeS and DkS my least favourite enemies to parry are the skeletons. Seem to have both fast and slow attacks but they all build up slow. The big skeletons in world 4 in DeS actually made me give up parrying.

A little tip on farming in blighttown. It's optimal if you have the serpent ring, of course, but here's what I do. (Also the ring of fog helps. You can put that on and the flying bugs wont see you... but you don't need it in the farming area as those bugs aren't there anyway.) Once you hit the bonfire in blighttown hang a left coming out of there... go up the ramp that leads to Ash Lake. Go to that bonfire and save... and then do your farming from there... there's two slugs under that ramp on your way back down... three at the end of the ramp. You can do those five run back to the bonfire and repeat if you want. But if you hang a slight left and go around the circuit there is about 15 or so more you can farm. And just use your estus flask as needed. I go out with at least 10 but I never use more than three or four. Make the round trip back to the ash lake bonfire and do it again. the more soft humanity you have the better as it raises your drop rate.

Put up my summon sign near the Bell Gargoyle boss fight and waited for 10 min and noone summoned me
I tend to find myself scared to go to certain places, im to comfortable with the Undead Burg. Didnt wanna traverse into Darkroot Gardens but I eventually did and it wasnt so hard. The big Stone Knights werent so hard and was able to get through most of the area only using an estus flask or 2. being able to swing my sword many times helps lol, my Black Knight Sword was awesome and powerful but slow. It was good most enemies I faced died at one swing. Oh and Magic Weapon made my Longsword super I didnt use it at all before since it didnt work on the weapons I used but its very good. add that with my quickness and I made quick work of the titanite demon.

And beat the Moonlight Butterfly without touching it again whats the story with the blacksmith where you get the divine ember or most of the ppl you can summon? Does anyone know, because I'd like to know about Witch Beatrice or Paladin Leeroy. Think I saw Paladin Leeroy in the Prepare to Cry video about Rhea which was the saddest out of them all imo.

What level are you? I usually don't have trouble co-oping until Blighttown and onwards when I tend to be a bit underlevelled (not this time mind you)?

Try googline 'best level for co-op in *insert place here*'. It's what I do if I can't get summoned. Also, if you're human and you can't see any white summon signs round about a place (before beating a boss obviously) chances are you might not get summoned.

I'd like to know more about that too actually. I've yet to watch ENB's vids. I finally summoned Tarkus earlier. Guy is a beast. Next time round I might wait about in Sen's and let him own invaders for me.

Not sure on that lore stuff Soup. Speaking of ENB...Check out his video series here.

With Beatrice is pretty damn cool, whatever her history is. You can get her gear after you beat the Four Kings. It's down there where that undead dragon is on the way to Valley of Drakes.

I think my next playthrough that I'll probably start tonight I'm going to use the thieves dagger the entire game see how far I can take it.

if you like Magic Weapon you're really gonna love Great Magic Weapon and Crystal Magic Weapon.

You get Great Magic Weapon from Big Hat right? If so I'll get that spell once I save him at Sen's Fortress. But where woukd you get Crystal Magic Weapon? I dont remember anyone selling that spell my first playthrough.

Could you actually summon someone like Solaire and then turn back and have him with you until he dies? I know when I put my summoning sign down it vanishes if I wander to far.

I think there is a certain area that you can use summoned NPC's in. Hell you might be able to take him all over whatever map you're on. Not sure. I know you can take Tarkus up to help kill the flame throwing giant in Sens.

You get Great Magic Weapon in Anor Londo in the Painted Room where you are walking high above on the ledges... You cut down that chandelier and it falls all the way to the floor. So once you work your way down to that level you walk in fight those painted guardians and pick up your treasure. You'll need 15 intelligence to use it.

Crystal Magic Weapon is sold by Big Hat Logan but only after you save him in The Dukes Archives. You'll need 25 intelligence for that one.
