I've never played online so I don't know how viable that type of character would be in PvP. It's challenging in PvE if you use light armor that has no poise. You'll learn how to dodge all the attacks for sure But I usually have the Wolf Ring which gives you 40 Poise so that helps.
I love MW, GMW and CMW. CMW gives your weapon a huge boost. With my Uchigatana +15 and Crystal Magic Weapon I killed the Dragon Bridge Dragon in like three swings... so it's pretty powerful for a katana. Sure there are other weapons that are alot stronger, but I can swing my katana 5 or 6 times before someone else can swing one of those huge weapons twice. So it works if you know how to use it.
I've seen really powerful Pyro builds, so I think it should work out for you, especially in PvE... I can't speak on how good it would be online though.
Yeah, my last game I had like 14 vitality with 0 poise and it was pretty brutal. Especially watching my mate go toe to toe with everything. Best thing about a Dex build is since you're not supposed to get hit you pretty much pick your armour based on looks. I was wearing Chester's clothing near the end despite the fact it pretty much sucked.
Think I'm just going to go with a Dex/Int build and try using a weapon which scales with Int such as the moonlight butterfly horn. Pyro can wait to another playthrough.
Where did you go to learn how to parry LC? Or did you just learn as you go?
I forced myself to learn. I'll post a cool tutorial video about parrying at the end of my post. It helps alot as well. But yeah, I just forced myself to do it.
Like you said you get to pick your outfit based on looks and I like to use the ninja gear and the spider shield, I think those look awesome. That was for my Mara Jade character...so of course I had to get magic weapon and so on to make her sword look like a light saber. And I love the poison resistance of all that gear.
I don't have the DLC but Chester looks fucking awesome! lol I love that hat and mask. I'd absolutely go for that gear if I could.
So yeah just practice the parry. I don't look at the weapon, I look at the hand. As soon as the hand comes forward for the attack I parry. The smaller shield you have the bigger parry window you'll get which is explained in this video. I have the most problems with parrying the really slow attacks lol

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
I doubt it. I remember trying all day. There was also a jump in the Painted World I kept trying but couldnt make it.
Just rung the 1st Bell and im on pace to break my record This time I actually cut the tail of the Bell Gargoyle so got the axe which is cool, had the help of my buddy Solaire though.
also got the ring of FaP. Why did the guy wanna kill the Fire Keeper? I might actually let him kill her next time since I hear getting revenge is some sort of sidequest plus you actually get more things like his cool armor.

How and the hell do you think we can miss you come out here with your bright ass purple shirt, before that bright green shirt, bright orange shirt like a big fat bowl of Fruity Pebbles. - Dwayne" The Rock" Johnson
The only thing thats real is me, and the fact that day in and day out for almost 6 years ive proved to everybody in the world. That i am the best. on this microphone,in that ring, even at commentary, nobody can touch me!- CM Punk[center]
Still can't really get the hang of parrying, but I guess I'll have to keep at it. Problem is I just went on a boss run, and then started helping people and completely forgot I was supposed to be learning to parry.
parrying is just something that takes patience and time. Just keep doing it. Once you get it you've got it though.
There are some silver knights in anor londo... one specifically under the staircase at the Bonfire with Solaire. That's the one I practiced on constantly in preparation for the final boss because he has the exact same move set as silver knights. Once you get that particular silver knight down you'll have no problem at all with Gwynn.
