Just started a new playthrough and chose the warrior class. Starting off with the Longsword and Heater Shield so already better than when I first played. hoping I can get better at parrying, I know I'll be able to backstab much now since I wont be a tank but would love to be able to parry once in a while.
Would go down and kill Pinwheel since he is so easy but dont know if I could survive the Catacombs and those stupid pinwheel skeletons. besides I shouldnt need 20 estus flasks, 10 should be enough right now.
Tip, SOUP. You can go kill the hydra which is fairly easy *just take a bow to kill that last damn head...lol* and save that girl and buy hidden body. You can use that to get to pinwheel. Sometimes those wheel skeletons wont see you with that. That's if you take the short cut. And even if one sees you you can run straight for the fog and you can dodge it as you see it rolling up behind you. That's what I do...btw that dodge works without the hidden body as well.
Or you can summon the NPC right there before you hop down where the wheel skeletons are and he can distract them while you run for Pinwheel.
Just killed the the Black Knight again and got the Black Knight Sword. Didnt try to parry but I feel so much more agile, backstabbed that fucker straight times. Probably wont use the BKS much this playthrough, always sucked you couldnt use Magic Weapon or any of the Pine Resin on that sword.
Yeah after you kill the Hydra you go on past the waterfall in the water, save and quit and a gold crystal enemy will show up. You kill that crystal enemy which frees this girl named Dusk. She'll thank you and such and then you run back to where you killed the hydra and you'll see a summon sign. You summon Dusk from there and she'll sell you spells. One of which is Hidden Body which makes you invisible for 30 seconds. It's basically the same thing as the Ring of Fog but it's actually a little better because you are hidden more from enemies it seems.
Now the ring of fog or hidden body have no affect on the bosses and certain normal creatures.
btw here's my weapon of choice for my current playthrough. It's the Washing Pole which is a katana but with massive range on it. It's move-set is identical to the uchigatana

The Hydra around Darkroot Garden right? Wouldnt that be alittle to tough for me atm.
So if I do that your saying I'll be able to basically run through the catacombs all the way to Pinwheel. how do you get the ring of fog.
Feels so much better playing knowing what to do. Just easily killed the Taurus Demon and met my Idol the great Solaire of Astora. Probably gonna by loads of Gold Pine Resin whenevr I arrive at the merchant who sells it. I totally enjoy using it.
No, the hydra is fairly easy as long as you can get to it. If you use the Crest shield that you get when you go back to the asylum and beat the guy that freed you, you can use it to help you run down to where the hydra is. It has an 80 percent Magic resistance on it. Once down to the water, change out to any 100 percent physical damage shield, hold it up until the heads slam into you, drop it and slash at a head. Rinse and repeat.
You don't have to run all the way through the Catacombs if you take the short cuts. You can get to Pinwheel in about 20-30 seconds from that first Catacombs bonfire actually.
Here's a link to it. The Catacombs start at 6:15
You get the fog ring by trading a skull lantern with Snuggly the Crow.
You can also get a Fog Ring as a reward from the forest covenant if you kill two or three people by invading them while they are in the forest.
Also you get the skull lantern in The Tomb of Giants where Patches kicks you over the edge. It's one of the treasures down there. Just grab it and homeward bone back out.

Will have to try that then. When I did fight the Hydra last time I did die twice because I didnt know the land stopped at certain spots.
Just beat Havel lol. Man I remember when I first started playing this game and got to him and thinking he was a boss. What a way to ease in newcomers right have this enemy who kills u with one hit even when your blocking lol. Feel better being a light character. It'll help against the human like enemies for sure just dont know how it'll fair against most big bosses and creatures.
Do you get better drops if your not dead? Ive been playing hollow so I dont get invaded so far. Now that I know Humanity is important o wont be using them just to heal.
Yeah I need to look better. I took all my gear off for the Havel fight and since I picked a black dude this time I looked like Charvoal man lol. I could play the whole game offline since I dont need hints cuz I already beat the game and if I need help I know where to go for it
Im so used to the short cuts I got last time I forget how to even get to the first bell lol. Im making a mistake starting a new game now lol. last time whenever I turned off my 360 i'so just turn it back on minutes later to play again. With me getting Far Cry 3 and DS3 in a week I'll have to stop. And I cant beat it fast cuz I like to take my time. How the hell are you on your 6th playthrough when you just started this for Christmas Croft
Just got the drake sword when I played last I got a couple dragon scales and could have made the sword better. Are there any other uses for dragon scales.
