I actually found getting to Seath quite simple, and killing him was even easier. I only fought him twice, the first time I actually got killed by the Giant Clams. But for Seath himself I just used Power Within, a Halberd, and just stayed next to one of his legs and killed him.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

The invisible paths are what truly did me in. I was playing offline so no hints and I used all the Prism Stones my first try. Plus everytime I died I would have to fight those crytsal enemies because they seem to spot you no matter how far u are from them. When I finally did get to Seath I killed him easily. I also had the Halberd but I usually just used my Black Knights Sword instead.

Ive never used Power Within even though I had it. Is it useful at all.

Yeah, I was playing online so I had the hints which helped out a lot. Got through that part pretty quickly. As for the Crystal Golems, I ran past the first three at the entrance, then killed the first one you meet. As for the Golden one he killed himself. Rolled out the way of his attack, then he went for another and just fell off the edge.

Power Within gives you a 40% damage increase. I always use it when I'm going up against bosses and it pretty much destroys them. It does however take your health away as you use it.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

I guess it would depend on how much health you have when using it. I had a Chaos Blade from using Quelaags souls on a sword and it was pretty powerful but hated how it took away health which I didnt like. I'll use Power Within next time though since I'll be a light character and will do less damage since I'll probably have a weaker weapon than my BKS.

When I think about it now 4 Kings,Nito,Seath, and Bed of Chaos were pretty easy. Its always getting to them which can be tough. I beat the game in 67 hours but I could easily see me beating it much faster. Hell LC is on her 6th playthrough so she must be beating it faster each time.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

It doesn't take huge amounts of health off just a tiny amount every couple of seconds. Being a light character, hardly used armour, it was a lot of help when going up against the powerful enemies. Made them go much quicker. Using it on Bed of Chaos, or someone like Discharge is just pointless as you hardly have to hit them. Using it on the Gargoyles my second playthrough was hilarious as well, three hits and down. Then I had to keep an eye out on my health...

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Power Within is absolutely awesome. I use it on most bosses. That 40 percent boost in damage really helps, especially on characters that just can't tank a boss. The health goes down slow enough so that you can easily counter it with your estus flasks.

Also, Soup, next time make Quelaag's fury sword. It doesn't take off any damage when you use it and any type of fire weapon is great in The Painted World. Those bloated enemies that spray out curse when you kill them don't do that when you kill them with any type of fire weapon. So I get the fury sword before going into that area for the reason alone.

And yeah right now I can beat the game quickly but I don't play like that. I still beat the game 20-30 hours quicker than I did my first playthrough though lol. I know there are some speed runners out there that can beat the game in around an hour. lol

On my current playthrough I challenged myself to ring Quelaag's bell first which was interesting and difficult.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Looks like I'll be using Power Within alot next time. will be more mele oriented for sure, spent alot upgrading intelligence and Faith last time. My stamina and endurance sucked big time.

wish there was a way to play online without worrying about being invaded. once im done killing most bosses and cant get invaded im gonna get a book of the guilty and punish ppl. Just think you gotta be a massive dick to invade someone. All ive ever done is help ppl kill bosses and thats feels awesome.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

I enjoyed it more than farming for sure. I once racked up over 300,000 helping ppl kill the Iron Golem at Sens Fortress. Nothing feels better than getting a message from someone thanking me.

Oh and those Mimic chests look creepy as hell its easy being able to spot them now though. Before playing Dark Souls I heard of descriptions of items and weapons being meaningless sometimes. Would anyone here have figured out that Lloyd Talismans would be useful against Mimics.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

wow that's alot of souls to have at one time. I think the most I've ever had on me at any one time was around 125 K ...

That Lloyd Talisman trick is clever lol
