Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
First time I saw them I killed them with one hit and thought theyd be easy. Stayed clear from their fog or steam but next batch I met got me. was shocked when my full life went to nothing.
Doing what pallytime did and going to get the Lightning miracle spell. He couldnt kill the dragon and just ran by it but me I freaking killed the Dragon like a boss yes im not strong enough to use the Black Knight Halberd but I can use it 2handed which I currently am and it is very powerful.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
I used the Halberd two handed for awhile until I could use it safely with only on hand. But thankfully while acquiring it I also had the awesome Gravelord Sword as well, which i could use by one, and two handed. Also I think the Grass Crest Shield also increase Stamina slightly, so it's good for that.
Right, so I went down into Blighttown and I'm so glad I had a few Blooming Purple Moss which helped me out against those assholes using Toxic Darts. Every other enemy was pretty simple. Also had a lot of Purple Moss so on occasion I would use them. Still Blighttown was a bit of a fun trek down to the bottom, went through Valley of Drakes to get there. Took a while for me to get to the bottom, and when I did I went left... I did eventually get to her Domain, missed most of those Boulder Giants outside. Only had to take out 2 that were hiding in the corner.
As for the Quelaag fight, that was pretty simple. It does help that the Helberd at +4 is insanely awesome. But it didn't take that many hits to kill her. Maybe five or six. Then I rang the bell and joined the Chaos Covenant. Don't really know why I even bother with these other than to get the achievement. Stopped at a Bonfire just past the Domain with a lot of Lava surrounding it, forgot the name, then I went to bed. So I'll explore that area in the morning.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
I absolutely hated Blighttown *and with good reason* the first time I went down there but now it's my favorite part of the game. Once you kill a blowdart guy he doesn't respawn so that's great. There are several of them as well. Especially around the fire-keepers soul so just have plenty of blooming purple moss when you try to get that soul. Getting poisoned is no big deal but getting Toxic can kill you pretty quick if you aren't prepared for it.
BTW, both Toxic and Poison can be cured at bonfires where as being cursed cannot.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
It's a pretty interesting area filled with some vile enemies. But the only thing I disliked about the area was I had no real idea where the fuck I was going, but that's pretty much the same with all new areas. Still, I was very well prepared with all the Moss that I had collected from the Forest area.
The only thing I forgot to do in that area was to go to The Hollow. So I'll probably go see Andre and get some repair boxes etc. then make another trip down there. Also defeated the Gargoyles which seriously took no time at all. Four hits in total and they were dead. So I've opened up the gate.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Yeah buying the repair boxes and the upgrade boxes is a good idea. You can go down to Blighttown, farm the slugs and upgrade your weapon at any bonfire... I guess you don't need those large titanite's for the awesome weapons you have though lol. But with a normal weapon it works really well.
BTW you can kill that spider lady at the bonfire after killing Quelaag to get her firekeepers soul but be warned once you do that you can't later warp to that bonfire. So it's best to hold off on killing her until you're almost ready to beat the game and you're done with having to go down to blighttown. It's easier to just warp there than working your way down the ladders ever time you need to go there.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
I'll probably head into Blighttown once Im home. Have enough moss to help with toxins and poisons atm so not worried about that. Havent watched any video of the area so it'll totally be new for me.
Couldnt get the lightning spell last night for some reason. maybe my Faith needed to be higher, if so I wont be getting it for a while which is unfortunate. looked like a badass spell to use since I use magic commonly.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Yeah your Faith has to be at a certain area. You can look at the spell and towards the bottom it will show you the requirements for it.
EDIT: Just looked it up for you, Soup. Here's the info

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Thanks. Looks like I wont be using it this playthrough lol. Tthe way leveling in this game works no way im gonna spend souls on Faith just for that spell. Its basically all strength, dexterity and intelligent for me now and maybe attunement later so I can had another spell.
I killed the dragon for no reason, sucks but It felt like an accomplishment
The Knight around the Firelink Shrine has returned without his guests and now he has said he has lost his queen. Am I going to run into her later on. And do I need Parry later in the game, I dont even try at all now. Should I practice?

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
You wont need to know how to parry as long as you have really good armor, shield and poise. I have no poise so I have to parry everything or go for backstabs lol
You will meet the lady and her two bodyguards later in the game once you go into the Tomb of the Giants.
Also you can lay your soupstone down and help people defeat bosses and that brings the Faith requirement down to join that covenant. Just lay your stone down at the gargoyles and help with that boss or whatever. Each time you help defeat a boss for someone you get 5 extra points for that covenant. So if you help 5 people kill a boss you don't have to have any faith for it.

You guys do know there is a third sister down in Blighttown. She is a master pyromancer. You find her in Blighttown after killing her sister Queelaag. She will give you a quest to go kill their mother.
