Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
So after accomplishing nothing last couple times playing due to me being curious and just wandering everywhere I decided im just gonna do whatever MFPallytime did. So decided to finally traverse the white light in Darkroot Gardens and fough Golems and they were fucking easy lol. Whenever I could go 2hand on them id finish them in 2 swings. Just got all Black Knight Armor so now im gonna be matching with my sword hopefully get a shield soon.

It would be cool if you had all of the Black Knights armor and you could fool enemies with it Like certain enemies wouldn't aggro when they some you as a Black Knight.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Alright so just picked up a Black Knight Halberd. Its just as powerful as my Black Knight Sword which I reinforced twice. I have so much shit I need to sell.
And summoning Beatrice worked like a charm. First time ever using a summon amd I enjoyed it so much im playing offline now and gonna try to stay human. Assuming theres a spot like where Beatrice was at where you would summon someone before a major fight.
With the Wolf Ring my poise is 86 is that good?
Black Knight Sword and Black Knight Halberd
*strength has to be 32 to use the Halberd

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Yeah 86 is really good for poise. You can get much better but you don't really need more than that. I get 40 from the Wolf Ring and that's all the poise I get lol. And I'm not constantly wearing that ring so it gets pretty dangerous as any hit on me will stun lock me.
Most bosses you can summon like that, Soup. There are some exceptions though. Also a note, once the boss of a level is defeated you can't be invaded in that area for the rest of the game.
Make sure you summon help for Quelaag in Blighttown. She's not really hard once you get her moveset and tells down but your first fight with her can be brutal. Also you can only summon that spirit after you defeat her in Blighttown so be in human form once you find the bonfire on ground level. Exit the little cave there and go right and that spirit will invade you.. you kill her then you can summon her for the boss fight. She'll only invade you while you're in human form though *you can do all this while offline btw*

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Thats good to know but will prob still play offline. Online only adds bloodstaines and messages which I enjoy but with all the help I get from everyone so no need for the messages. Im assuming im close to Blighttown. Which you made sound like poison hell before. Only place im worried or scared about is this place MFPallytime mentioned where it was all ghosts and they could hurt you but you couldnt hit them.
Im at the Valley of Drakes. My shield sucks, looks like im gonna have to try the Grass Crest Shield which helps against magic more.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Those ghosts are in New Londo. You can use what's called a Transient Curse. That allows you to kill the ghosts in that area. It's pretty simple. They can get you in numbers though but are fairly weak by themselves. Just have 4 or 5 Transient Curses on you when you go into that area and it's no big deal. Keep your Transient Curses highlighted in your menu because they do eventually wear out and you have to use another one. Once the Transient Curse icon lights back up you know it has worn off so you use it again. I can run through that area with only one Curse but it took me 3 or 4 the first time I tried it.
Also when you go into Blighttown make sure you have several Blooming Purple Moss's. Those are used to cure Toxic. Purple Moss cures Poison. You'll get poisoned and it's really no big deal. Your health goes down but very slowly and the poison wears off eventually but Toxic is alot worse. It will drain your HP really quickly and you need to cure it. I don't even bother curing the poison. I just use my estus flasks on it.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
I got poisoned once and it was pretty bad because I was cursed. I finally picked up a Spider Shield. You said they help with curses, poisons, etc. if I go down the sewer area and face those frog things do I just block and I wont get cursed?
Valley of Drakes is tough, havent felt that weak for a long time. BKS is doing damage of course but their lightning breathe always takes a chunk out blocking or not plus I just use a ton of flasks while fighting one so no point in fighting the other 4 Drakes around. Time to stop and watch more playthroughs

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
The only way to not get cursed is to kill them very fast. Don't be too worried really.
The only times I ever got cursed in my 9 playthrus was with Seath, both fights.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Also that Haters guide video is the long way to the bottom of Blighttown. If you take the back way it's alot shorter. Those that want the ninja gear, power within *rules btw* and the Iaito go the way he shows. If you don't want that stuff then go the other way...if anyone wants that way I can find a video for it. It's rather simple and you get there from the Firelink Shrine area.
I've never been cursed
If you have to fight those frogs just hit them and back up.. hit and back up. It takes quite a bit to curse you. I think the only reason you got cursed, Soup, was because you didn't know it was actually happening. It's easy to get out of that fog and let the effects wear off before going back in to fight 'em.
