I remember starting this game last year but not really doing anything of note. Still I enjoyed it but put it down after only a few days. Other games came out that kept my interest(SKYRIM). But now I've started again, from my old save, and have got a little further than before. Mainly just picking up some items I may have missed and farming for Souls.

The first thing that I wanted to do was get that damn Drake Sword that most people talk about. So that's what I did. Bought myself a bow, and some arrows. Then went down to that part below the bridge and began to draw my bow... Not enough Dexterity. Oh god dammit. So farmed for Souls and I got to the right level. Killed the Dragon and got the Sword. WIN!

On the way back to kill the Bell Gargoyles I decided to kill that Black Knight on top of the tower, and I got his sword. Took me a couple of goes to kill the 2 Gargoyles, and to be honest they really weren't as tough as I was expecting. Which was a nice surprise. Also chopped off the tail of one and got an Axe. Rang the bell.

Near the blacksmith I killed that Lighting Staff Demon dude. Now I'm in the same forest as the one in that video Seph posted and spoke to a big white cat-thingy. Joined a Covenant and started appearing in other peoples games...

Might not be doing this game in any order at all, but whatever. I'm having fun.

Yeah there's no real order to do things in this game and I love that. There are a set of videos by vageta311 called Everything Possible Before The Gargoyles and it's really amazing. Here's a link to that playlist.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5CC8A65E1E0EB80D

He also has some video playthroughs of him beating the game without leveling up and using only the weapon he started with. He's the best Dark Souls player I've ever seen. Alot of fun watching on his channel for any Dark Souls fan.

Lure the knight down and kill him. He won't respawn. Go to the very top and snipe the back of the dragon with 1 arrow. He should fly away and about 30 sec. to a minute later you'll get 10,000 souls.

Once you buy the key, use it to open a door in the forest. You can get to it after passing the blacksmith and fighting a mini boss that shoots lighting and has no arms. When you come up to the door, you can open a secret bonfire by hitting the destroyed wall to your left. Here's the strategy:

Thanks Seph.

That guy is fucking amazing. I couldn't stop watching it last night. Was about to go to bed then ended up watching three of his videos. What he did in under an hour I couldn't do in about 10 hours. Just insane. But it certainly has taught me a few things, very important things.

But seriously, the way he took that Hydra out, and Sif was just disgusting. Also that Metal Boar? One hit, one fucking hit?!?! That Dragon looked a piece of piss. As did Havel. Well, everyone seemed easy.

Best part though, was how he died. Just misses a step and falls off a cliff in the forest area.

This game is great if you have a lot of time on your hand and play through it blind on the first time. I played for about 8 hours and was doing fine and then got cursed in the sewers by those huge frogs. Put the game down for months. Came back cured my curse, farmed a little bit and went back down to that sewer area and got cursed again. Haven't touched the game since, not enough time on my hands to fully enjoy this title, though i completely understand the allure and praise it gets.

yeah his videos are really amazing. EpicNameBro is another guy you might like watching, TIM. Another amazing player.

He started some Dark Souls challenge things. Here's Vagetta311 doing one of the challenges. The rules are this.

#1 You may not level.
#2 With the exception of rings, you may only use your starting equipment.

#3 The only Blacksmiths who may Modify your equipment are Andre and Rickert.
Normal, Raw, Divine, Occult, Magic, and Enchanted are ok.
Fire and Lightning are NOT allowed.

#4 You may not use any healing items during a boss battle. Clerics can cast heal with no restrictions.
#5 You may not enter new covenants. (If you are a knight / cleric, Way of White is allowed.)
#6 You may not upgrade your pyromancy flame.
#7 No summons.

You MAY buy consumables, including resins, spells and arrows. You MAY remove equipment. If the challenge is too easy, add your own restrictions. These are only the BASE guidelines for this challenge. Season to taste, bro!

he makes it look so damn easy lol These two guys give me fits!

Here's EpicNameBro's playlist. There's alot of good stuff there.

Cured my curse the other day and bought an extra just in case. Visited the Firelink Shrine and the knight who said he was waiting on his guests finally got his guests. 2 other knights and a woman which was cool. So did some things and next time I was there they all left. Cool how the world kinda changes while traveling.

Also bought combustion from the Pyromancer I saved. Kinda like the spell more than fireball atm.

Damn, that challenge sounds insane. I might have to give that one a miss personally, but I'll watch the video. No leveling? Fuuuuuck...

As for me and my game. I decided to start again and take a few tips from that Vageta311 guy. I don't have the same amount of skill has he does and I haven't done that walkthrough exactly, well not at all, but I've got weapons that he has etc.. Started off getting the Gravelord Sword, took a while to get down there thanks to the Skeletons. But I got it in the end. So I was using that for a while. Even though I needed to level up a little bit to use it properly.

Now I have the Dark Knight Halberd and I've got it to +2 with Twinkling Titanite. It's a fucking beast of a weapon. Mowing enemies down anywhere. Still, I do die, mainly at bosses. But I took a few of them out today. First to go was that Moonlight Butterfly, pretty easy to be honest. Just stayed out of the way of the attacks, when it came down hit it a few times and it died. Then I took on Sif, who killed me a couple times, but then he went down. Havel. Fuck, that guy was annoying. Every time I thought I rolled out the way of his attacks he would somehow spin round and smack me, killing me. Also took out that Dragon near the beginning.

So, I've now got some good equipment, sword, shield, ring etc.. May finally go down into the depths a little further. Maybe do more of the Catacombs, or go to Blighttown. Or I could wuss out and do nothing else but farm...

TIM, my advice before you go down to Blighttown is to go back to the Asylum *if you don't know how to do that I'll gladly explain it or post a video* and get the Rusted Iron Ring. This ring will allow you to walk through the swamp at normal speed. It's a must have for me. I hate being slowed down lol Note though, you'll have to beat a Black Knight to get it. But if you have a good shield and you're good at getting around for a back stab it shouldn't be much of a problem. You can also get the Peculiar Doll which is in your old jail cell. That's also guarded by a Black Knight. That item allows you to get into the Painted World in Anor Londo later in the game. ***note, before you go back to the Asylum don't forget to get a special key which is near the big crow nest... you can't get the rusted iron ring without it.

Also, while you're at the asylum you can trade with Snuggly to get more twinkling titanite to upgrade your weapon further. Here's a list of what you can trade....

http://darksouls.wikidot.com/hawk-girl

Also, a special warning. Do not walk into the middle of the room where you faced your first boss... walk around the sides of it. Something special happens there lol. Just be ready for that and when you try it try it with very little souls in your pocket.
