Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

I'm gonna totally BOSS Blighttown this time, Seph. I'm going to go over every inch of it and kill all of those damn toxic dart snipers and collect every item to be collected in the area. I shall not fear it this time! :

Darkroot Garden is alot of fun, Soup. You can get the Wolf Ring there if you know how to get to it. If you're going for a strong build you probably wont need the extra poise the ring gives you but being the type of character I am whose armor has ZERO poise then that ring is a must.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Killed about 4 mini bosses and just recently beat the Bell Gargoyles. Im beginning to think that this game is full of bosses lol. they aren't that hard once you find their weaknesses and their patterns. The most frustrating part would be having to travel all the way back whenever you die.

I can use the Black Knight Sword now

Have fun with Capra. He's your wake up call.

As long as there's a Triforce, there will be a Zelda;
as long as there's a prosperous kingdom, there will be an evil bent on destroying it;
and as long as there's an oppressive force threatening Hyrule, there will be a boy...

in a green tunic, silver shield, and magic blade to stand against it.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Capra is tough... I hate that fight lol. If it wasn't for those damn dogs it would be easy. I figured out a plan though. I went down to the Tomb of the Gods and got the lantern and traded it to snuggly for the ring of fog. : The ring of fog turns you basically invisible. So I decided to try that against Capra and it worked...for the most part. Capra can still see you but the two dogs can't. You go in, dodge capra's first attack then kill the two dogs and he's all yours. Once those damn dogs are gone you can figure out his move set and adjust accordingly.

Gold resin works great on him as well.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME! I'm about 50% done with the main shit, and with a little over 30 hours, maybe about 33 or so, my character is a warrior lvl.34 (i think may be 35). Also Capra is a fucking pussy, of course I've used the Drake Sword 97% of the time I've played the game, which is an even pussier move. And the Gaping Dragon was fucking easy to be such a colossal boss, and the way he made his entrance was way too dramatic for someone who was so damn easy, I took most of him out with a fucking +5 strong bow and some fire arrows, then I played run & gun waiting for an opening with the Drake Sword for the remaining 25-30% (ran out of arrows, lol), I'm almost certain I could have finished him with a long sword, or the Crystal Cross Sword, that I need to upgrade like hell. I have yet to use Gold Resin and Charcoal Pine on a boss even before the Drake surprisingly. I'm just about close to Sen's Fortress, I need to beat Hydra and a few other optional bosses though.

How's the DLC for anyone who's played? It looks awesome.

If all you've done is ring the two bells and haven't gone to Sen's the you're not half done.

I haven't even rung the second bell yet, shit how far have I've gotten? Most of the stuff I've done is screw around and kill some optional bosses, thinking about taking on Hydra before moving on to Blighttown. Seph did you use the Drake btw?

I used the Drake until I could upgrade the Iaito into a lightning weapon.

If the Gaping Dragon is as far as you've gotten, then I'd say you're MAYBE 20% done with the game.
