How do you go about this one? I broke him out of the cage in Sen's Fortress and talked to him in Firelink Shrine, but he says something about me not being able to learn sorcery or some bullshit and that's it (although I don't use sorcery other than pyromancy, anyway).

I used the black eye orb in the room before the fight with Ornstein and Smough. Invaded his world or something and killed him there. And got that ring of favour and protection or w/e it's called. Gave Anastacia back her soul so I can use the bonfire at Firelink again, too.

I haven't done most of them except the Lautrec and Gwyndolin one. I do know about most of them though.

Thanks a lot Seph, I now want to play again. I can't seem to get in to Skyrim at the moment (great game just not in the mood).

When you get to Duke's Archive, save him in the jail cell and then return to the area where you originally lost to Seath.

You should always be wearing that ring.

Bump for Freeloader.

Any questions or observations, let us know.

Default Dark Souls - welcome back to hell

I finally picked up Dark Souls, partially avoiding it, partially wanted to finish other games first. So far, I've enjoyed it, it is far less irritating and cheap than Demon's Souls so far, but I liked the layout of Demon's Souls better so far. That and maybe it's just me, but the graphics were better in Demon's Souls as well. I miss the Central hub with the "Hall of Fame" above the Nexus, and warping around. However, I do like how Campfires are scattered, and how your lifebar isn't chopped by 50% when dying.

So the whole "Undead" look your character takes on, is basically the new Soul form eh? I see my life remain, but my resistances and defense goes down a bit, correct?

So far, I've taken down a few shithead giants and the Bell Gargoyles. Summored Solarie to help, but he died in the process. Didn't cut off the tail and get the axe like I had hoped. Still looking for a better weapon than the sucky starting Battle Axe +5 I have. I think Seph, you said there is a spear near the Graveyard, but I haven't found that place yet. I should go look for Havel now. He is not at the beginning of Undead Burg where the Dark Knight is down near the bottom of the stairs, is he? That first giant that jumped off the tower, I think the door was locked in that room near him is what prevented me from going there unless I have the wrong room in mind.

So yeah, I know a few of you bought Dark Souls, but those who did not, the challenge will make you want to punch your TV, but defeating a boss still feels like a huge accomplishment.

Where you are now, you should be looking at getting the Dragon Sword.

Basically you shoot the dangling tail of the red dragon you met from under the bridge a number of times and you get it.

I just cleaved a hole in the skull of Capra Demon.

I saw that dragon you speak of. In Demon's Souls, you could position yourself somewhere and pound away at the Red Dragon in that game. Cheap, but it worked. How many times do you have to shoot the tail? I figured it was a lot to kill him. Shoot him from under the bridge and he stays there and lets you?

He flies away then comes back. Similar to killing the red dragon in 1-2 in Demon's Souls atop the tower. If you cleaved a hole in the Capra Demon you did a lot better than me. I got my arse handed to me first 2 times. It's one of those 'Huh.. what just happened?' fights. Even after I beat him I wasn't quite sure how.

If by giant you mean Black Knight then Havel isn't down that one. I'm fairly sure before you go to fight the Taurus Demon there is another door with a spiral staircase going down. I'd have to check though. Did you choose the master key as your gift? Regardless you're probably better getting Havel via Darkroot. I did a lot of levelling there. Some neat items too.

Edit: Yeah. Check the second video here: http://wikigameguides.com/Dark-Souls...g-Part-2-16614 if you don't want to go via Darkroot.

I chose the Black firebombs, to kill that idiot in the beginning. I guess his mace doesn't drop the 2nd time? I can't even use it yet, worthless mace. No the black Knight was guarding that blue ring that ups defense with low health. I thought the Red Dragon couldn't be killed with a bow anymore, thus the confusion how to do it. I thought he healed. Still, I would like that sword if it's an upgrade over a Battle Axe +5

Can't aim crossbows = epic lulz. So retarded.

OK so I finally caved and ordered this today. Really excited about it/dreading the fact that it may cause me to have a heart attack. Couple of questions.

Did anyone here get this and give up on it due to frustration?

Am I going to need to do research before playing? Bearing in mind I want to avoid as many spoilers as I can.

Is it going to be a lot harder for me due to me not having online?

Only resistance to curse is down, but it doesn't matter.

As for the red dragon, there is a really cheap way to kill him, which to be honest, is the best way to go since its pointless to try and actually fight him. There is a spiral tower with a black knight at the top after emerging from the area where you can snipe the dragon's tail. Shoot just ONE arrow into the dragon's back and boom, he's gone and you get 10,000 souls.

Also, I bumped this for you yesterday if you need any help. I've pretty much done a lot of hints and my own experiences for nearly the whole game.
