Dark Souls - welcome back to hell
I finally picked up Dark Souls, partially avoiding it, partially wanted to finish other games first. So far, I've enjoyed it, it is far less irritating and cheap than Demon's Souls so far, but I liked the layout of Demon's Souls better so far. That and maybe it's just me, but the graphics were better in Demon's Souls as well. I miss the Central hub with the "Hall of Fame" above the Nexus, and warping around. However, I do like how Campfires are scattered, and how your lifebar isn't chopped by 50% when dying.
So the whole "Undead" look your character takes on, is basically the new Soul form eh? I see my life remain, but my resistances and defense goes down a bit, correct?
So far, I've taken down a few shithead giants and the Bell Gargoyles. Summored Solarie to help, but he died in the process. Didn't cut off the tail and get the axe like I had hoped. Still looking for a better weapon than the sucky starting Battle Axe +5 I have. I think Seph, you said there is a spear near the Graveyard, but I haven't found that place yet. I should go look for Havel now. He is not at the beginning of Undead Burg where the Dark Knight is down near the bottom of the stairs, is he? That first giant that jumped off the tower, I think the door was locked in that room near him is what prevented me from going there unless I have the wrong room in mind.
So yeah, I know a few of you bought Dark Souls, but those who did not, the challenge will make you want to punch your TV, but defeating a boss still feels like a huge accomplishment.
