Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Don't feel like digging it up, but I remember someone in this thread thinking a bow-only run would be real hard. Believe it or not, it was incredibly easy when I did it.

Pump points in dexterity, upgrade the Long Bow to +15, name your character Legolas, and use the Darkwood Grain Ring to dodge, and it becomes laughably easy. I could kill most enemies before they got anywhere near me. The bosses weren't that hard either.

In fact, my first time beating Ornstein and Smough on the first try, was with this build. I just backflipped the f*ck away from Ornstein, putting an arrow into him every now and then, and he was finished. Then repeat with Smough. The only bosses I can remember giving me a hard time were the 4 Kings(because they spawn faster than my arrows shoot) and the Bed of Chaos(which I shouldn't have to explain). Otherwise it was a breeze.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

The Bell Gargoyles are so easy but I cannot for the life of me beat them.

I seem to batter them but they also seem to hit me wherever I'm stood or regardless of blocking.

FUARKKKKKKK

EDIT: FUCKKKKKKKKKK AGAIN

Praise the Sun brother MOZ. Use some of that pine resin if you have any left. The fight is easy though, wait till you fight them in Dark Souls 2

Looks like Being Human turned out to be your downfall

You should try and remain hollow as much as you can, only become Human after you've defeated an are boss. Most of the bosses can be killed easily on your own. You'll probably only need help for Ornsetn and Smough tbh.

Wouldnt BoC be the best fight to summon 2 people?
Like the summons go to their respective side while you stand in the middle, they destroy the shit and you finish it

No I don't think so, that "fight" isn't that tough. Yes I've died countless times but you really don't need a summon for it. Ornstein and Smough and maybe the Iron Golem fight I'd suggest. Tarkus could solo the golem by himself.

Im not rly talking difficulty, more so efficiency.
BoC was never a problem once people picked up on the fireball trick but still, having 2 summons litteraly destroys the fight

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

In my experience the fight was never lost on either side of the Bed *see what I did there?* I would lose the fight by not hitting that final jump or hitting the final jump and getting killed by the fire attack. If you do the right side of the bed you can easily make it back to the middle and then you can beat the left side with an arrow. You can save and quit on both sides of the Bed *heh I did it again* and start back at the fog gate so it's really easy to get back to the middle if you aren't comfortable running back.

Yeah the fight would be that much easier and faster with a summon or 2. When I mentioned summons was just talking about possible difficult boss fights. If Moz is having trouble with the Bell Gargoyles then S and O could be hell.

And yeah, 90% of my deaths in the BoC fight were due to the final jump. I'd either time it wrong and get swept to the left while in the air or just completely fuck up and jump from a stupid spot.

The next 10% would have to be that damn Pyromancy attack it does. You make the jump and gotta get through those branches then you see it winding up that fire

I hope you go through Darkroot human Moz
