I tend to go through games pretty quickly. I started DS about 2-3 weeks ago if I hadn't finished it soon I would probably have lost interest for a while before starting a new playthrough as I hate replaying a game from an old save. You'll also find a lot of the places you go to later on in the game are much shorter.
Can't wait to replay the game though. I'll probably just start a normal new game as a thief and try and do things differently or something. But for now I'm gonna move on to Skyrim... doesn't look like I'll have a life in a while.
Edit: Protip for everyone who hasn't put the lordvessel on the altar. DON'T. Just go about your business as if you had. Without giving spoilers, there's an alternative way of doing things which explains the story better and even hints at another ending. It's nothing drastic, but it does change the way you look at things. I was SEVERELY pissed off when I found out about it. Something like that shouldn't be so obscure to find. It sort of ended the game on a sour note for me.
