Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

I never had an issue with how Dark Souls looked but from all the footage i'm seeing for DS2, game looks so much better. Can't wait to get to that Dragon Bridge whenever i get DS2. Reading more up on it and it seemd like yeah the game will be very very hard. Imagine buying it day of and not having the ability to watch detailed walkthroughs. The penalty for dying will make a 1st run that much more difficult.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Damn I think Dark Souls has actually ruined RPGS for me. I've tried a shit load of different ones since finishing DS and I always end up thinking...'Shit the combat sucks compared to DS.' EVERY fucking time.

On a side note, picked up Demon's Souls and I got to say it pretty darn great too. I'm finding it pretty easy so far, but thats mostly because DS has eased me into the universe. I do think some aspects of the original are better though. The interactions with CPU is definitely better and i like the white/black tendency aspect of the game. Shame online isnt't active anymore, but still single player mode is still a shit load of fun

Dark Souls 2 Graphic Novel
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/dar.../1100-6415530/

I've said i would have loved some kind of book for Dark Souls because i think the lore is amazing so this might actually work.
And thank you Seph for the PM, Praise the Sun indeed

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

I forgot how awful the Tomb of Giants was Nito is obviously my least favorite of the big 4 to fight. I don't think I've ever had a strategy for his fight. Always Green Blossom, sword buff and hack away at him and that gets considerably harder to do when on NG+.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Yeah that's my strategy as well. I do take care of the skeletons with the Silver Knight Spear and I make sure to never aggro the giant skeletons. After that it's just tank Nito until he dies. If I get hurt enough then I'll heal and keep on beating on him.

I have the same strategy for Seath and the 4 Kings. I assume once you get to NG++++++ you'll need a new technique because one Hit might kill you. And I never killed the skeletons, Nito's area attack would kill them for me so I never needed a holy weapon.

Spoiler for :
I remember LC saying she hated them with a passion too. Almost as bad as Mirelurks. They were the only things that made me despise the painted world, they became easy once I got astringent weapon though.

What made them so tough is that blocking is almost useless against them.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Those Wheel Skeletons are just in retrospect but when I first encountered them...........!

Also, these guys for the first time were a pain especially when curse stacked and when purging stones were scarce.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

i remember the first time encountering the Basilisks. I was still a newbie , had full health and fought one and killed it with one hit since my BKS was super awesome, the next 2 i fought did their fart cloud and i went from full health to dead and fucking cursed. I was so confused at the time.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Oh lawd and Blighttown with the toxic blow-dart guys, I thought the Parasitic Wall Hugger was emitting the toxin on my first playthrough. I thought to myself "How in the hell do I get past this thing, if I get close then I die!" I was so innocent back then

I did have a stroke of luck (or so I thought) in the 'Burg near the start of the game, a generous player dropped a bunch of fully upgraded weapons and armour, which was a big mistake in many ways and it cheapened the game.
