Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Okay fixed it. For some reason whenever I clicked page 6, it took me to page 3 :/
To answer your question, I just saw the sign on the floor just before the Bell Gargoyles. It asked me if I wanted to summon a companion so I did. He died pretty much straight away though.
I dont know how I did it, but I think the fact that I was in human form was the trigger. When I did the boss with another character who was hollow, the sign wasnt there.

Man, reading everyone talking about this game makes me really want to check it out. I didn't play Demon's Souls, should I check that out first?

You really don't have to. I'd say go straight into Dark Souls.

Good to hear. I just realized Demon's Souls is PS3 only so I can't play it anyway.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
Any tips to defeating Ornstein and Smough Boss in Anar Lando? I've seen its recommended to take out the little guy first to make the second boss simpler than vise versa. I'm running pretty much all melee, zero range and for the life of me I can no get the two of them to separate.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011
If you go in human, there is a soul sign on a staircase (near the knight archer) to call an offline NPC (Solaire) to help.
If you want an easier time, take Ornstein first. But if you want BOTH souls AND Ornstein's Armor, take Ornstein out 2nd. It's harder, but the reward might be worth it. I did it that way. I believe I was around SL 60+ and had a completely upgraded Lightning Iaito and still had to have the NPC distract Ornstein for me so I could take him down.
It's definitely a tough fight. Good luck. Oh btw, after the fight...."Amazing Chest" ahead.

It's funny, you think you've seen a lot of the world...and then a curveball is thrown in and your running away from half dinosaurs on lava.
I seriously thought I was close to being done after getting the LordVessel...but fuck I was wrong.
50 hours in, maybe 3/4 done.
