Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Alright downloaded Artorias of the Abyss and started a new game I chose knight as a class because im Ned Stark.

I killed the Asylum Demon without getting hit once. hoping to finish this playthrough before March 5th.

*just beat Havel after 2 tries lol. Would have beat him the 2nd time but I goofed up. Was so much easier the 3rd time. I never knew you could backstab him

Yeh, I go straight for Havel before the Taurus Demon. He is so easy to kill its unreal.

I went to Oolacile for the first time last night. Big mistake.

To access it you need to rescue the Dusk of Oolacile and then get the broken pendant from the crystal golem at the Dukes Archives.

Then go back to the lake where the Gold Golem was.

Also take some type of light with you into the DLC whether it be Cast Light, Sunlight Maggot, Lantern or whatnot... you'll need it to open up a certain hidden door.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

Even starting the dlc is alittle difficult lol. Guess I'll have to do that much later then.

I always fight Havel before Taurus idk why. Still .that I just found out you could backstab him, no wonder the fights always took forever. Still for an early fight its probably one of the best in the game. in a kinda small space with that Badass that could oneshot you is nerve racking. Wonder how the fight is if you wait till later in the game if its easier.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

As far as I'm aware there's no need to start a new game unless you somehow fucked up and killed Dusk. In fact I watched a friend download the DLC the other week. It's probably not a good idea either as the DLC is pretty rough. Those Iron Giant's are pretty darn fast.

The Havel fight is one of those ones I now wonder how the hell I found it difficult. Similar to the Stray Demon. Coincidentally I actually found the Firesage Demon a bit harder on my last playthrough. Seemed to stand across the other side of the room and just annihilate me with it's melee attack.

I fucking hate Titanite Demons. Died a few times to the one in the church because it moved be in to a bit of debris and I couldn't move. That's probably one thing that annoys me in this. Not being able to move because an enemies pinky toe is in the way then being flattened. Remember losing it a bit when that happened to a Silver Knight in Anor Londo.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

It's alot easier later in the game, Soupbro. You have better weapons so the backstabs do alot more damage. It's just a much quicker fight.

Re: Dark Souls - October 4th, 2011

btw, Soup, I'm pretty sure you can do the DLC in new game plus without having done it in new game.
