They know me pretty well there, not personally, but just from going there a lot. Never had a problem with the staff or any of the games. The prices are also quite decent and no different than most other places.

I just hate when the staff tries to bug you about getting the $3 coverage for scratches, though. They don't seem to like taking no for an answer sometimes.
the used games racket for a competitionless gs/rbg is doing this industry a disservice

If publisher's didn't charge so much for half ass games with most of the game coming out in DLC form monthly, then there would be no need to buy used games. If Publishers didn't release a game, then release the 'Ultimate Edition' less than a year later (with everything extra included only at a lower price) then we could just buy a new game a lot more willingly.

Should car dealers stop selling used cars? Should Ebay be shut down? Are hand me down clothes destroying the clothes industry?

I just checked the internet, it said no.

Re: Retro Gaming Discussion

Aside from must have games like the UFC games and ME 2 & 3, I buy everything used. There is a place in my city called Chumleughs and they are basically the used games/movies equivalent of Futureshop. It's the type of place where if a new game comes out, wait 3 weeks and it will be there for $35 and they clean each disc before putting it out and they will have multiple copies. I've talked to the guys at Gamestop and they said it's put a decent dent in their business. Can't blame people, though. Why pay $70 for something when you know you can wait a few weeks and buy it for half of that and it's quality is the same as if you bought it the first day it came out?

here in the united kingdom we have a shop chain called CEX where they sell movies games cameras laptops and phones ALL 2nd HAND

so as long as the stores that rely mostly on newer purchases stick to that alone while whole other companies work their place in society completely on used stuff then everyone is a winner

at least i think

Re: Retro Gaming Discussion

Went to a flea market today, picked up Secret of Evermore, Link to the Past, and Castlevania IV for $30. Then got Killer Instinct for free (Buy 3, get 1 free). $60+ market value, but I plant on flipping them for $50 because I own them already.

I go there frequently when I wish to buy games. They're real cheap and surprisingly in good quality.

Re: Retro Gaming Discussion

Didn't realise we had a Retro gaming thread. Last retro gaming thread I remember got turned into the general gaming discussion thread .

Just recently bought Mario/Duck Hunt 2 in 1 for NES and Hogan's Alley. Had a zapper for a year but never had a game to try it on. Still works fantastically!

The Sex Shop is what we call it (as does probably everybody). CEX is comme ci comme ca. I'd NEVER buy a phone out of it.

Back to topic of reto gaming. I use ROMs to play the old Sega stuff. Handy enough.
