Anyway, I've been wondering lately, what are people's opinions on Happy Wheels?

It's pretty fun for about 15 minutes, IMO. I've always found it just gets boring after that, even with the crazy amounts of user created tracks.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
Robbaz turned me onto Happy Wheels with his videos on them. I too think it's fun for about 20 mins, then I get bored. I've had it bookmarked for awhile now and periodically go back and give it a whirl.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
Thankfully, I contacted a customer service rep through LiveChat on Newegg - I will be getting a refund and I will put forth the extra money for a 660 TI.
Now that it's been resolved, just how future proof is this PC build? Is it alright for a first time PC build?
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz Quad-Core - 229.99 (Already have)
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-645 LGA 1155, 2667MHz, ATX - 129.99 (Already have)
Memory: G.SKILL Ares 8GB (2x4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 - 49.99 (Already have)
GPU: MSI 660 TI PE 2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI - 299.99 (The PNY 560 TI is going back)
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA Internal Hard Drive - 69.99
PSU: Seasonic M12II 620 W - 89.99
Tower: Thermaltake Overseer RX-1 -109.99

Nice build. Similar to what I did last year aside from the graphics card. Looked up your mobo, and like mine, it has a wonderful little button on it to auto overclock the cpu. As long as you have a good cpu cooler, I would absolutely recommend you press it. I have a 3.2 i5 and in one press of a button I jumped to 4.2. Just a little something extra to boost performance and keep it as future proof as possible. And another good way to do that is to get a second graphics card (the same one) when they go down in price so you can run them both together in SLI once games start getting more demanding in a couple of years. I was lucky enough to be send two of the same one and only charged for ONE . Haven't installed it yet because I don't need it atm, but its there for when I do.
Honestly only thing that looks out of place to me is the hard drive. Do you already have one you plan on putting in? 500GB really isn't that much these days, especially for games. Then depending on what else you do with the PC, decent apps take up a chunk of space as well, then if you download... fuck. I've got 2TB and am always having to go through shit and delete it or back it up to disc because I need more space and can't afford another hard drive atm .

Re: General Gaming Discussion
Maybe I should listen and just get a 1 TB. I'm already going over budget (my original budget was $850), so why not? I am just going to use the PC to play games, though. Indie games, old games, new games - solely games.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
Well plenty of new games these days are at least 8GB. I've got a few that are over 20GB (4mb connection downloading them from steam... urgh ). Depending on how many you have installed at once, then yeah, it all really adds up.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
One of the games I want to play, Shogun 2, is at least 20GB. I bought Shogun 2 and Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai on disk, however, so I just have to install 'em. It's going to be harder getting these PC games physically, though, since Gamestops are starting to phase 'em out and I'm only seeing 'em digitally on Amazon and stores like that. I know I will be using GOG.com and Steam, but mainly for indie and old PC games. I just do not have the patience to download these games on the connection I have.

Shogun 2 looks fucking awesome, wanted to give it a shot, but it looks difficult and I don't really play strategy games, plus, one of my friends played the Total War games and he said that after a while they become extremely hard.

Looks good to me. As far as future proofing goes, as long as this console generation lasts, you're laughing (my PC was built over 2 years ago, and it still runs pretty much everything perfectly at high quality, unless it's an optimisation issue). It's hard to tell what specs the next generation will have, but I'd be surprised if they did anything other than play catch-up, considering how far ahead PC tech is by now. So, yeah, you're pretty much fine.
