Finally got Just Cause 2 and the game is awesome. The gameplay is just as good or possibly better than GTA 4 and Saint's Row 3. Just Cause 2 is much better than Just Cause 1 in every way.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

The gameplay in Just Cause 2 better than GTA4 and Saints Row 3, that's a laugh. The shooting in JC2 is pretty bad and the voice acting is just terrible, worse voice acting I ever heard in a video game. It is fun though, pretty crazy game.

The shooting controls are decent. I prefer it over GTA IV's auto aim. The missions in JC2 are actually fun and non repetitive. The grappling hook and parachute combination is awesome. The map for JC2 is huge and has multiple environments like the city, jungle, desert, and snow mountains. The police in the game are very aggressive. The overall story and voice acting isn't that good, but the game is still very fun. Just Cause 2 can easily compete and beat some aspects of GTA IV and Saint's Row 3.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

Picked up The Witcher 2 yesterday. Never had so much problems installing a game before, jesus fucking christ. I did some research and I wasn't the only one so that at least made me feel better. But yeah, that was a cluster fuck. And I know you're probably thinking "Walls, how hard can it be to insert a game disc, hit install and wait?" Well, pretty fucking hard, apparently. It wouldn't read the disc or run the first 5 times I put it in. Then it would read it but install only half way and wouldn't read disc 2, then randomly those problems stopped happening, it started to read it but it said files on the disc were corrupt. being a brand new, sealed copy of the game, I found this odd. I had uninstall and re-install, no joke, 8 times before it worked finally. And every single problem was solved by persistence and re-installing, doing nothing differently at all each time. Just the last time, it worked. And I googled it, a lot of other people had this problem with the Enhanced Edition as well. And even once it finally installed, the voice overs didn't work so I had to download a big patch for that as well, which thankfully worked.

Annnnnd after all that work, I'm really enjoying it so far. Got it for $30 as well, so can't complain at all.

You think that's bad? Bought Mass Effect 3 the other day, and Origin wouldn't let me install it from the discs. Had to download the entire 10GBs, even with two DVDs full of game right here in the case. Fucking EA support just said "Yeah, you'll have to download it. It's a thing."

Also, make sure you play Witcher 2 with Polish voices, and English subs. So much more atmospheric.

Don't do that, I loved the English voices, they were done really well.

I did that a while back in the first Wither, as you suggested, and Geralt turned into an old drunk. I just couldn't.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

Bought Saints Row The Third the other day for nice and cheap on Steam, been playing it over the last few days. Absolutely a giant ton of fucking FUN. I've yet to play GTA IV (though I have it), so I don't know what the controls are like on that, but compared to VC and SA on PC, the controls for this are sooo much better. Hell I gave up on SA because the default controls are a pile of fucking turd and I couldn't be arsed to set them up myself (using a 360 controller btw). Anyway, the game is awesome. Missions are fun, and I like that you can do them whenever you feel by phoning someone up, rather than always having some marker on the screen to go to in order to start the next mission even when you just wanna fuck about for a while. Buying shops and properties to make money and shit reminds me of The Godfather (aka GTA meets Godfather for the most part) where you have to take over the city while doing missions and shit. Hell, a lot of this game reminds me of The Godfather with taking over the city, having side missions like being a hitman and going after certain people etc. Love the weapons in this too. Shame I couldn't keep that damn minigun that I picked up during a mission (guessing I can get it later on the game? please? ), but the satellite thingy is great for taking out cars and helicopters, and beating people up with a giant dildo makes me way too fucking happy . Everything being open to you at the start (well I've yet to find somewhere I can't access) is a nice change from GTA. I can just wander up to the airport and steal a plane or a helicopter (well, got the heli in my HQ now) regardless of how long I've played the game. Cars are fun, especially the one I've got pimped out. Handles great (another thing I thought kinda sucked in GTA lol) and the music like in GTA is great. Not hating on GTA because I love 3 and Vice City (and the early overhead ones but they are totally different), but this game takes all the things I loved about those and made them better. Would like to play SA and see how that stacks up, but fuck setting up the controls for that. Might get it for the PS2 or something instead . Same goes for GTA IV, but I'll try that on the PC at least first.

Anyone know of a way to get free Xbox Live Gold codes? Shit's tight right now, and I ran out of gold a week or so ago.
