Re: General Gaming Discussion
Picked up The Witcher 2 yesterday. Never had so much problems installing a game before, jesus fucking christ. I did some research and I wasn't the only one so that at least made me feel better. But yeah, that was a cluster fuck. And I know you're probably thinking "Walls, how hard can it be to insert a game disc, hit install and wait?" Well, pretty fucking hard, apparently. It wouldn't read the disc or run the first 5 times I put it in. Then it would read it but install only half way and wouldn't read disc 2, then randomly those problems stopped happening, it started to read it but it said files on the disc were corrupt. being a brand new, sealed copy of the game, I found this odd. I had uninstall and re-install, no joke, 8 times before it worked finally. And every single problem was solved by persistence and re-installing, doing nothing differently at all each time. Just the last time, it worked. And I googled it, a lot of other people had this problem with the Enhanced Edition as well. And even once it finally installed, the voice overs didn't work so I had to download a big patch for that as well, which thankfully worked.
Annnnnd after all that work, I'm really enjoying it so far. Got it for $30 as well, so can't complain at all.
