Re: General Gaming Discussion
At your first playthrough it takes you a lot longer. I remember when first playing I was running around the places, trying to figure out what to do or where to go. On the 3rd playthrough it was a piece of cake.
To those out there who are playing Dear Esther, do you enjoy it? I gave it a shot and I have to admit, the music and the visuals are amazing, but for me this hardly qualifies as a game, there's basically no gameplay. I'm not against innovation and creativity, cause I actually admire a game that has either of them, but I just don't see any reason for this game. I'd rather read a book or take a walk and have a better experience than walking around lonely in a virtual world in front of my PC. I'm not bashing the game, again, just trying to figure out the whole point of it. IMO, this could've been a decent short film or something, the story it tries to tell is good, I just don't see any fun in 'playing' it.
