Why would I convince you otherwise? I loved FFIX. Play it again, dammit. As for Grandia, I need to finish it. I finished the sequel, which I thought was great. Grandia III was average while Grandia Xtreme was a pisstake on the name. I think my PS1 memory card is busted, however. It's a third party card that holds 8 in 1. Extremely fragile. Not sure I can save any of my games now.

Zidane. That's all the fucking reason you should need to keep your distance.

On an unrelated note, I've been looking at Nier. So far the reviews are a tad disappointing...

I thought so. Yeah you can't walk from place to place anymore it seems, its kinda just like FF Tactics now.

I hate Zidane, but there is a lot about FF IX I really like.

I don't worry about reviews for a game I'm interested in. Reviews wouldn't stop me from playing Lost Odyssey (they were average), and reviews wouldn't stop me from playing any other games unless it's one I'm on the fence about. If I'm interested in a game, I'll buy it regardless of reviews. I understand reviewers have different tastes. A lot of 'em don't really approach a game objectively. You can see it in their writing. A lot of 'em have preconceived notions based on hype, whether they're a fan of the series, whether it personally looks interesting to them, etc. IGN is guilty of this.

I don't know hey. Especially knowing that we're only getting one version of the game (Which also happens to be the worst) outside of Japan. Why we're getting Nier Gestalt and Japan gets both Nier Gestalt and Nier Replicant I have no idea.

Aren't they the same game basically? Nier Replicant's hero is just modeled after what the Japanese like, and he's going for his sister. Our hero is modeled after Western tastes (though it's kinda stupid seeing as Square Enix fans would rather get Replicant anyway, they grew up on heroes like that) and he's looking for his daughter, and I understand he is the father of both the Replicant hero and obviously Yonah, the girl in both games. That's all that's really different, from what I've read.

The story in Replicant is slightly different. Feels less disjointed apparently. But I think I'll pick up Nier anyway. Just looks like a fun game. Even though I still don't fucking understand why they put a hermaphrodite in the game...

I'll be picking it up as well, but 3D Dot Game Heroes and Modnation Racers (both are $39.99) are releasing in a few weeks. Might just wait until the price drops, which it inevitably will in just a few months. It's a niche game.

I've been saving up quite nicely. I haven't had time for new games, and thus haven't bought any since FFXIII launched. Once work dies down a little in about 3 weeks I'm going to splurge on about 3-4 games. One will be Red Dead Redemption. The other (Most likely) two will be a combo of Just Cause 2, Alan Wake or Nier. Nier is probably going to be one of my choices tbh.

I have some money saved as well, but 3D Dot Game Heroes and Modnation Racers are too cheap to pass up, and they look like good games. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is also releasing at the same time as Alan Wake, so I'm going to buy SMG2 and wait until June for Alan Wake.
