Re: General Gaming Discussion

SR3 isn't good at all, I rented it for a few days, played a bit, realised it was a total gimmicky mess and resumed playing Skyrim.

Hip...did you just compare Skyrim to SR3?

Also I think some people take SR3 a little too seriously. It's an awesome game if you appreciate it for how ridiculous it is.

Bit late here but isn't that a tad hypocritical? If people are easily amused for liking a game with great dialogue and cutscenes along with platforming sections which are genuinely fun and great set pieces (i'll admit the shooting sections can get rather annoying) then what are they like for loving a game which lets you run about hitting people with dildos? It's a different kind of fun, I guess.

I can't comment on the actual gameplay of either btw. I played and thoroughly enjoyed Uncharted 1&2 but I'm still actually waiting on my copy of 3 arriving from when I preordered it off of play on the 1st. I haven't played any of the SR games at all either, so I'm not going to comment on which game is better.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

Hey SR3 fans, is there a character (or more) in the game that you can think of that is amazing or very memorable? If so, how does that person compare to other characters this year or of the past. I'm trying to put together and early shortlist of "Best New Character" and "Best Character".

Same goes for protagonist and antagonist. It doesn't need to be the main hero or the main villain.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

I am 8 hours into Saints Row: The Third and only now have I got into it. Until this point it just felt like an extension of Saints Row 2, I haven't touched that in over a year but the general feel of course was very similar, weapons handled the same, there wasn't really much fresh

Only now, after 50% of the game according to the save game screen am I actually enjoying the crazy sandbox feel of it, whether it'll continue to escalate or not remains to be seen but before that point I was getting fed up. I've now fully upgraded pistols and got some other cool things which make it more enjoyable

As for the characters well none stick out in my mind, Kinzie is annoying that's all the input I can give

I really enjoyed Shaundi and Gat in this game and the previous games. Oleg though gets my vote for best new character in the game. He's a gentle giant that's very intelligent and loyal. He definitely sticks out. Burt Reynolds wins best guest character though.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

I could never get into the Tomb Raider Series, the controls were always weird. I hope the new one coming out is good, the demo and trailer looked awesome.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

The controls for the TR games are what's always held me back from enjoying them as well. Hopefully the new one fixes it.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

I get paid on Friday (woooo first wage in 5 years ). Should I get a 360 now... or wait and get one closer to Christmas in hopes of some Christmas sale, or after in hopes of a January sale?

EDIT: Or should I get a PS3? I have no idea which would be better for me since I really haven't kept up on what games are on which console . I have had a look around and I can get the basic 360 or PS3 console for the same price roughly, so I just have to decide which to get at some point .
