Just go over to a friends house and beat the game with them. I did that for Gears 1 and 2 with two different friends. Playing with some else is also a lot more fun.

Basically. My friend never bought Gears, because he'd always play my copy with me on splitscreen. It's a good way to experience the game without ever having to buy it. It's a hell of a lot more fun with a buddy on splitscreen.

I completely forgot GOW 3 was coming out tomorrow, that should tell you how much I give a shit about this completely overrated franchise. I can play peek a boo with my dog for free, it's essentially the same thing.

I just recently played the first Gears after I gave up on it like a month ago. I found glimpses of creativity here and there, but they vanished after a time and it became repetitive again. I can't really say that it's that bad as I first thought it was, but it's not great, either. The characters are forgettable, the story is uninteresting, your partner is a complete moron and dies so quick. Plus, that final boss made me hate the whole damn game. I could've killed half of Europe with the amount of bullets I gave that fucker and he still wouldn't die. Seriously, fuck this game.

Last midnight release I went to was for GTA IV.

Only ever been to one for FIFA 09, San Andreas & GTA IV. Then I became a pirate and got em before midnight releases.

About the only thing I don't pirate is games tbh. Not for the lack of wanting though, it's because I am weary of trying to mod the console myself and mucking something up.

I will eventually get around to doing it one day regardless of the outcome as the reward for doing so greatly outweighs the risks involved.
