Re: General Gaming Discussion

I haven't rented a game for fucking years. Think the last one I rented was back in the late 90s. I also don't trade in games after the last time I got like £10 for 3 games. Just pointless, especially since they sell them for far more than they bought it off you.

That's one of the main reasons why I have such a big gaming collection. But I know that if I like it a lot, I'm going to play the story mode, or multiplayer, again. Just like GTAIV, Bioshock, Mass Effect, CoD, etc.. Even achievements help to keep me playing. But I only really buy games that I know I'll like and ones that will keep me playing again and again.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

That's also one of the reasons why I do not trade games in. For one reason or another, I might be in the mood to play something I haven't played in months or even years. Lo and behold, I may not have it because I traded it in. In my opinion, the money you get for trading it is not worth it most of the time anyway. I regret trading in a few of my games, so I don't do it anymore.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

I also never trade in games. I don't think about the money the shops make of it, or playing the game again in the future (even though I most likely will). I simply like to build a solid collection of games that I can show off to some of my mates who are also into games.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

Also if there is a new game in a series that I like I usually play the previous games just to get an idea of what has happened so far. Like I played Mass Effect again just before the second game came out. I have also done the same for both Bioshock and Gears.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

(sigh) Y'know after the awesomeness of the Uncharted 3 BETA, U2 online just doesn't seem all that fun anymore. I don't know what it is, maybe the novelty has finally worn off or maybe I've just gotten sick of playing the same game hundreds of times for the past 2 years.

Re: General Gaming Discussion

I trade in games I've played because I may as well get close to what I paid for them while they are newish and I've completed them(only really applies to games with no replay value, I tend to keep good multiplayer games)

As for rentals I really hope that the blockbusters in england aren't going to close anytime soon, I always rent games because they are so short/shit a lot of the time. Like I rented Dead Island because I wasn't sure about it beforehand, and yes it's a good game, but I've completed it and I'm not the type to go 'hey, let's play through this story mode that I've done before'.

That would have been a waste of £40 for me rather than £5 well spent.

That's exactly how I do it as well. Or did, now that they are closing.
