I'd like to go off this Final Fantasy subject here and ask since we're in a new decade if PS2/Xbox/GC games count as retro now?

Pretty much any game can be discussed here. We don't care.

Now back to FF 8, I still believe Ultimecia is Rinoa. Oh and don't get me started on FF7. FF has some of the BEST TWISTS that people don't even realize.

For example: Tidus being dead the whole time; Sephiroth isn't the main villain, isn't even in the game except for flashback; the final boss of FF 9 is actually your whole party is dead.

I've come to the conclusion this is going to drastically lower the amount of new threads posted in this section. Still a good idea though you should probably get rid of the Retro Gaming Discussion thread.

Oh and anyone know if Secret of Mana is worth $60 (AU) off Ebay. Seems like a lot of money for a SNES game.

Edit: Before answering that question take into consideration that I'm a storyline and characters kind of guy and the only RPG's i've really spent a lot of hours on and loved are Final Fantasies. The newer Final Fantasies, so the older graphics could be a problem.

Its the prequel to Seiken Densetsu 3 and the best RPG on the SNES that managed to get released outside of Japan imo.

Worth experiencing definatley.

I tried to bring the review thread back all that time ago. But my laziness when it comes to typing proper reviews out caused me to type one paragraph and post it and nothing more, making for some blantantly obvious and dull commentary.

As for Seiken Densetsu 3, I never tried it. My one friend is a huge RPG nut though, and he raved on about it for months. Or at least I think that was it. I'm confused. Fuck.

I just noticed this tread is General Gaming Discussion but it still says Retro inside. Anyway, Microsoft is ending support for original Xbox games online April 15th, any feelings? There probably could be a way on their part to keep it going but it's just as well. It's time is due and the only game that has anyone on it is Halo 2.

I don't mind not being able to play those games anymore as much as feeling it's the end of an era and what made Xbox Live in the first place. A lot of people who have 360 and Live probably never touched the original Xbox so it feels like they're shutting the door on the community that supported them from the beginning.

The good thing is if you played Halo 2 online in the past you get 400 Microsoft Points and a 3 month gold subscription. I received one and think it's a nice gesture by Microsoft.
