I haven't played the 4th one yet but from what I've read and seen it looks pretty awesome. Too bad I don't have a PS3

Most psx/n64 games have aged terribly imo

I remember sleeping over at my buddys house when I was about 8 years old and playing Nintendo really late and one of the last games we played was the original Metal Gear for NES and I saw the cardboard box in that game. I remember thinking that was the funniest thing in the world as an 8 year old.

I wouldn't mind a port of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2:Solid Snake which is supposedly really challenging.

And I still think MGS 3 was the best one but all 4 of them were fantastic.

Metal Gear for the NES is a fucking joke. Play the MSX version if you want to really be wowed.

Personally, the biggest thing I like about the NES version of Metal Gear are all the bad translations.

You can get ported version of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 in the Metal Gear 3: Subsistence but it can cost a helluva lot of money and at the end of the day probably isn't worth it. On another note I picked up MGS3 for £6 today. Bargain.
