Yeah, but play them in order. The older ones will feel really inferior if you pop in III first.
And you'll be pretty lost in the story as well.

sly cooper all the way
also, all the god of war games are phenomenal.. so buy the upressed version of the first two, and then obviously 3

lol @ that.
Kratos is really pissed off because he got betrayed and he sets out to kill everyone and then eventually Zeus. I just summed up all 3 games in a single sentence. I've beaten all 3 and the story is very basic. You could start out at 3 and be fine, realistically.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
I found a game called God of War Collection on gamefly which has both 1 and 2 on them so I'll try that next.
I tried Assassin's Creed and did not like it is it true part 2 and brotherhood are way better and if yes how?

you can summarize just abut anything in a few sentences if you be so vague...
btw, nasjays get the god of war collection. And yeah, assassins creed 2 is about 400 times better than #1

Re: General Gaming Discussion
It wasn't a few sentences, it was one. GOW has a very simple story, I don't see how anyone can argue that point.
Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood are 100X better than the first AC, as it was shit.

That's not exactly what I meant though. I mean, what's the point of playing the first two games if you played III first? It's kind of a waste in a way because those first two games are pretty awesome tbh. Especially for their time.
Also, the back story of Kratos and how he became the God of War in the first place and the story of Cronos are never really covered in detail in GOWIII. The main plot is fairly simple, but there is still details in the first two games that still warrant playing them.

Yeah, get that GOW Collection. The graphics beat the living shit out of the PS2 versions. You get trophies as well, and most of them are pretty easy to obtain. It's a pretty cheap game compared to most PS3 titles and you'll get at least 30 hours out of it.
And yeah ACII and Brotherhood are worlds better than the first game, it's not even close. You don't even really need to play the first one to be up-to-speed in ACII, unless you want a deeper understanding of the future storyline, which no one seems to care about. Catch up with it on wikipedia if you must.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
GoW games got pretty repetitive to me but they were pretty good I guess I would recommend them still if you're into hack and slashers/action games.
Prefer the Uncharted series.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
The future storyline for Assassin's Creed is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever seen in a video game.
God of War is pretty great. Repetitive yes, but it's the epitome of epic, as in the actual definition of epic. I found it to be immensely entertaining.

Re: General Gaming Discussion
Yeah basically the main stuff you need to know from the first AC is the stuff that goes on with Abstergo and Desmond. I liked the first one when I played it, but after playing the second one there is a massive gulf in quality. AC II is fantastic, everything is better in it.
I loved God of War, defined my summer in terms of gaming. Also glad I have gotten back into gaming after like 3 years of not playing.
