I love both equally. I like the multiplayer in Gears 2 more for some reason.

I played & beat 1,and tried 2 both are pretty fun,but i'm not really a big fan of the series,i'm just trying to stack up my 360 games catelog with some games that'll be fun.

I enjoyed Gears 2. I enjoyed Gears 1 a little more, though. Gears 2's story became incredibly nonsensical towards the end and I found myself groaning at the Lambent inclusion of the story. Really, Epic? We've been fighting the Locusts for two games now, and all of sudden, you throw in a third party which is more volatile than the guys we've been fighting? Reminds me of all the RPGs I've played where the real bad guy doesn't announce himself until after you kill off the "antagonist" of the story, or the guy you've been chasing the entire game, only to find out he was never really the bad guy. That really irks me and reeks of bad storytelling. I shouldn't expect anything more from Epic, but damn.

wow. I don't really mind stories like that as long as they keep it going. Like in DMC 4 when before the game was announced it seemed like Dante was going to be the antagonist, but it turned out being some other dude. I kind of liked it because it continued the story a little.

The only game I have stickied is SVR11... I don't really play many games, and wat until they're cheap. Still having great fun with Bayonetta and Arkham Asylum.

Bayonetta was better than i thought. I was expecting a total DMC ripoff, but i was pleasantly surprised. The one thing i disliked about the game was that the controls were kind of bad in some boss fights, especially with the later boss fights with Jeanne, and i also hated how damn near impossible Hard mode is to beat.

Stories like that are okay as long as they don't entirely come out of left field. Devil May Cry 4 wanted to make us believe Dante was the bad guy, but honestly, I've played enough games where the "religious organization is evil," so I knew straight away who the real antagonist was anyway just by looking at the guy. Thanks, Grandia 2.

There were absolutely NO hints whatsoever to the inclusion of the Lambent until midway through the second game. I'm fine with plot twists as long as it doesn't fuck with my intelligence, and Gears 2 did. It was as if the writers got lazy and decided the Locusts weren't terrifying enough, so they went and mutated 'em, slapped another name on 'em, and are now calling 'em the biggest badasses of Sera, despite the fact we've been dealing with the Locusts for two games. Who knows. Gears of War 3 may surprise me, what with *SPOILERS* Marcus Fenix's dad being included in the mix *SPOILERS* so I don't know. The gameplay has carried the series anyway, but I'm just nitpicking at the plot for my own amusement.

Gears 3 looks incredible atm. I remember the boss fight they showed at E3,now that level looks fun.
