but horizontal is much better

I don't see the problem Vertical really,if i'm playing Tony Hawk then vertical split screen is great,but if i'm playing a 3rd person shooter it can suck.

Not much is improved aside from the fact that it has current tech in the game,like cellphones & shit. The game is worth purchasing considering the price,and the gameplay is pretty nice.

I've never played San Andreas, but I did play GTA III and Vice City. I can safely say the driving sucks in GTA IV, at least. The game world, I've heard, is smaller than San Andreas. The gunplay is a lot better than the other Grand Theft Autos. That's one major improvement.
Grand Theft Auto IV just wasn't for me, I guess. I bought it on impulse and ended up regretting the purchase. Damn my Gamestop buddies for heckling me into buying. They're persuasive motherfuckers. Although the game isn't bad, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I actually preferred Saints Row 2 over it.

I got bored from GTA VI. Fast. It was too realistic and dull. I traded it in for MGS 4 just a week later. It had nowhere near the amount of excitement or originality as Vice City and San Andreas. And those assholes friends of mine in the game wouldnt stop calling!
The Ballad of Gay Tony was more interesting and ridiculous. Then again, just get Red Dead Redemption, Just Cause 2 or any other game. Honestly, GTA 4 was a let down.
