Oh dear. Birdo, who was knocked out in the Semi's last year by Luigi, avenged his defeat. The other finalist from last year, Peach, was also knocked out. In fact, out of the semi-finalists from last year, Birdo, Boo, Peach and Luigi, only Birdo made it through. The closest match was Baby Mario Vs Toad, in which Baby Mario took a 5-0 lead before Toad fought back to eventually lose on a tiebreak. There was one whitewash, which was Bowser who beat Paratroopa 6-0.
