Everyone in this thread seems to have started as a massive team and not really had the biggest of challenges. For example Inter, Man U and Bayern. Any discussion of someone that's made a small team big, or even just managing a lower team. LLM ftw.

I'm currently entering 2014/15 with Crystal Palace and we just won back to back premier league titles, we have a great team, although not as strong as some others, we seem to score a lot more goals. I've worked my hardest to keep a British and Irish looking squad, players such as Jack Wilshere, John Bostock, Victor Moses and Sean Scannell banging in goals, but also fully develloped Buonanotte, Nasri and a few others. We have a solid team base with Miguel Veloso being the obvious one, also Gabriel Tamas and Eduardo doing excellentely down the middle back line. Full back's, we have Guilherme for the left which Eduardo can slot into if needed, and a problem on the right for many years, with Vanden Borre and Kaebi not doing a great job i got an absoloutly remarkable regen, the only one i ever succeeded in training to absoloute success, he's is a tank of a right back, think dani alves stats.

So at the moment the one thing evading me is the European Cup which i am finding near impossible to win, last year we held a 0-4 lead going into then semi-final second leg only to lose the game 4-8, 8-8 on aggregate meaning we went out on away goals, i quite frankly could not believe my eyes, and although i often post games like that on youtube, i couldnt put myself through watching this again.

I started with Anderlecht, tbf. That's a small team to European standards. After two and a half seasons, I went to Bayern. Not a bad career move, if I say so myself.

I kind of did the same, starting at Sao Paulo, winning everything but the champions league equivalent before jumping ship to Bayern. Ended up being the right decision as i won my first European Cup, still i hate to start at big clubs.

I have a game with East Bengal in India where I won the Asian Champions League! And, you should know that's extremely hard. <_< Couldn't do it in 07.

I win.

Edit:

133 games unbeaten atm.

Got board of my MK Dons season where I just got to 5th in the Premier League, in 2012/13. So i thought I'd give myself a treat:

Just got board, Barce only gave me 7 million, so I sold most of thier players and brought in some of my own. Half way through my 1st season, and am 2nd. Looking to sign more in Jan.

You got rid of Valedes and Xavi?

Mistake imo.

van der Vaart was a good pickup tho.

From Anichebe down made me LOL hard.

Selling Valdes, Xavi, Milito and Eto'o also did.

With that team I don't know how he's coming second.

You didn't do the best of buys there or sales but you might no what you are doing.

But what i want to know is how you only got 7m to start with, with Barcelona .

Anyway.. 17th December on my Inter season now, that is the second season and things are going alright but no where near as good as they could be. Lazio are the main challengers at the minute with me for the league and they are sitting above me by 1 point sadly. Went 14 games without losing and since my first loss to Atalanta its went sort of downhill with poor performances. Anyway, won the world club championship with relative ease but was beat in the Italian Super Cup by Juventus who are without a doubt my bogey team in this game and i also lost to Shakthar in the Euro super cup 2-1 thanks to a last minute goal.

Yeah this was me just messing around, Eto'o is a jobber at Liverpool, no goals in 15 games. I'm not taking the game that serious. I just put Anichebe back, after I signed Arshavin, he did score 6 goals off the bench. I have a new rule if you are over 27 your out, hence Xavi gone, Iniseta is better anyway. Garay the centree back has scored 10 goals by February, takes pens, and scores a ton of headers.

I got Meyde casue the team had no depth, he is tyerrible so I chuck him in the B team. Just got Danny Alves.
