I remember what you go on now: Load FM up and go to Options > Preferences > Display and Sound and Tick Reload skin on confirm, I am pretty sure that covers facepacks as well, any more help then check the youtube video above.

Installing Graphics, everything except Skins
Got to My DocumentsSports InteractiveFootball Manager 2008 and create the following folders:

1) Create a folder and call it "graphics"
2) Inside the folder called graphics, create four folders entitled "logos", "kits", "facepacks" and "backgrounds".
3) After you've downloaded a graphic pack it will generally be either a ".rar" or a ".zip" you will need to extract this file into the relevant folder (e.g: if its facepacks you've downloaded extract it to the facepacks folder)
4) Go into FM, load up your save game, go to preferences and click the "display and sound" tab.
5) First off, the box "use skin cache" should be ticked, untick it now.
6) Secondly, the box "always reload skin on confirm" should be unticked, tick it.
7) Confirm your changes to the settings and wait for it to load, this could take a few minutes if you're adding a lot of graphics.
8) Your new graphics should now be appearing, go back into the preferences screen and the display and sound tab, and undo what you just did, by ticking the "use skin cache" box and unticking the "always reload skin on confirm" box.

Whats the best formation to use with Chelsea?

From general football knowledge I'd go with either a 4-5-1, or a 4-3-3 with Drogba is the targetman, and Essien as the midfield destroyer. I'm guessing Kalou is dog turd on FM08 (like he is in 07, the version I still play), so you'll probably want to buy a new winger, preferably a lefty so Joe Cole can play his preferred right, and a good crosser to play into Drogba's aerial strength. A right back wouldn't go astray either, depending how good they've made Belletti or Ferreira.

Belletti and Fereira blow on the game. So does Kalou. And Cudicini and Pizzaro and Ben Haim. And Sidwell. Chelsea got owned when FM 08 made their team.

^ In fairness, that all seems about right, although I'm rather fond of young Kalou. He's reasonably unheralded, but consistent for a winger. Most retarded Chelsea fans think he sucks because he'll make a comical error in front of goal every other month though.

EDIT - I remember FM07 made a funny joke with Adebayor initially. His best technical attribute was marking, which was on 14 for some odd reason, and his jumping was only 15. Thankfully they fixed him up well on the patch, and they gave him much better technical stats, and rightly so.
