Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

I didn't know there was a thread on this

Anyway, just started a new classic mode game with Chelsea. It is more of a tactic test than anything. Started out the season pretty good by winning the Community Shield over City and Super Cup over A. Madrid.

I signed Juan Jesus and David Alaba, who are turning out to be good buys.

Taking them off marking tightly seems to work as well. For the AM I use a attacking advanced playmaker, which works wonders when made the primary playmaker. Eriksen from Denmark is a beast in that role
depending on what players I have affects what roles I assign them. My game with Genoa I used

Veloso was a DLP with Defend, Defour was Box 2 Box with Support and Mati Fernandez was Advanced PM with Support, as I had Pazzini at Advanced Forward and Barnetta and Vargas on the wings with Attack duties. Then if I was chasing a game and using this formation I'd change Mati to Attack. If I wanted to be a bit more defensively responsible I'd change Veloso to a regular CM with Defend and Defour to DLP with Support.

in a 4-4-2 Defour and Veloso are godly.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

well my first FM season sure was a roller-coaster. After going like 6-5-6 or so in the MLS with the Galaxy they canned me halfway through the season and I took over the Houston Dynamo who had about the same record...dominated the competition and won the MLS Cup...close call in the Eastern final though, won on penalties. My GK saved me, even though I tried transferring him earlier in the season.

Would be pretty cool if I ended up winning the NACL cup too.

thinking I'll probably start a Euro game now though. not sure if I wanna do England, Spain, or Germany though. might also go for that French team that has Becks in this database. :becks

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Gotta admit after a couple of years on CM and FM since the changes I just don't enjoy the game anymore. Its too long winded, FMC hasn't got enough detail and it annoys me how you have to pay for the extras like an app on the iPhone.

Too many factors affect success on the game and by the time you start a new season it goes tits up after you've wasted about 2 days buying players etc. Its fucking ridiculous now, I honestly don't think I'll buy FM14 because the game has become ridiculous in recent years.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Actually enjoying this Monaco save i have atm. Forgot about the only 4 non-EU players rule in ligue 1 so i had to loan out a decent regen RB. But i signed Corchia instead so it isn't bad

Team atm is this;

edit: got to love PSG, they spent 140 mil last transfer window, they loaned/sold off - 3 mil

edit #2: coupe de la ligue quarter vs PSG, i got 8 players on international duty and 2 suspended. this blows

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Getting peeved at my very poor away form. Not my strength building a tactic around it but no luck whatsoever. Think I'm on about 2-3 seasons since my last update, culled the team down a bit.

GK: Bernd Leno
RB: Sebastien Corchia
RCB: Rakitskyi / Regen
LCB Regen / Regen
LB: Stafylidis (wish he had a higher P.A)
RCM: Lars Bender / Lucas Romero
LCM: Leon Goretzka / Ruben Pardo
RW: Wellington Nem / Carlos Fierro
ACM: Michu / regen
LW: Viktor Fischer
ST: Kevin Volland / x2 regens

Volland up front is just very weird. Not clinical, very creative nonetheless. Would prefer someone up front just battering the defence. Has the stats to do that. Goretzka however is just hhhnnggghh. 9 tackles a game, 85% passing succession, 13.7km covered per game and works to 7.8 average rating per game after 25 appearances. Love this guy. If I get another file with him and keep clean of injuries (had a few 2-4 month layoffs), will have a license to kill.

Took on Michu for free, slow start but has slowly built up the stats to prove to be a gem. Not as clinical, but wanted him to have the killer instinct to push play forward and has done that.

Need to grow the defence into a unit and find some striker who can score goals for fun. Especially the latter. May fix my poor away form if I can get someone to kill games off with just 1 clear chance.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Am I the only person that is incapable of having a good save in FM13, starting as Automatic? I did this shit in FM12 and fucked shit up with any team that had 3+ millions moneys. Now I get fucked every time. Might start out well then I lose a game, morale goes down. Lose another game due to morale. And this keeps going forever. I'm not a bad player but this copy of FM13 I have is fucking bullshit. How can I go from being fucking amazing in FM12 to fucking shit? Am I giving up too quickly? Has the game gotten too hard? AM I COMPLETE SHIT? no
