Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Badly fucked up on my Everton save, I wanted to majorly cut the age down and my oldest players are Leighton Baines and Nikica Jelavic who are both 29, second oldest is 27 on my 3rd season.

I'm happy with cutting the age down, the only downside is I've left myself without many experienced players especially at center back when I sold Jagielka and Gary Cahill. Left with Shane Duffy, Boyata (on loan) and Shawcross.

Starting an MLS save, taking Toronto FC to the big time.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Give it a few years on my save and I can almost certainly see Man Utd getting relegated. They came close a seasons or two back but ended up staying up on the last day. They haven't got Champions League football in four years and it's damaging them financially, once being in the top 3 richest clubs to now being 7th or so on the list almost £200,000,000 from when they were at there highest.

I've just had a look at there managers list too since Alex Ferguson retired in 2015 and it reads quite the grim.

Pep Guardiola took charge (2015-2021) - Not bad, there for 6 years, Won the league twice as well as a few domestic trophies.
Rudi Garcia took charge (2021-2022) - Not the best appointment, Won fuck all in a year, sacked.
Roy Keane took charge (2022-2027) - 5 year reign, Won the league once and that was it, surprised he lasted as long as he did.
Luis Enrique (2027-2029) - Won nothing, sacked.
Tom Newey (2029-2031) - Won nothing, saved them from relegation, sacked.
Scott Kerr (2031-2032) - Was in charge for 3 MONTHS before getting sacked, seriously.

They have just appointed ex-Northern Ireland international Stuart Dallas as manager who hasn't managed a club since two years ago when he was sacked as manager of Newcastle for finishing 12th in the league, the same year Man Utd survived relegation on the last day.

Certainly not looking good there.

Oh yeah, I couldn't give a fuck neither, they have some pretty good youth coming through and I've already taken some of there great players on cheap prices.

But it's just surreal seeing things like this happen in the future of the game

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

i've seen clubs like chelsea and liverpool hovering around the relegation zone, but never relegated. everton and newcastle probably the biggest league clubs i've seen relegated this season. but i havent really had a long term save, hoping this napoli one is a change.

That's my problem too.. I'll play a season or three, get bored and restart and then wish I'd kept the save about 20 minutes later..

Pretty amusing to see big teams doing horribly! Even better when teams like Fulham & Wigan are getting Champions League spots over United or Chelsea though..

Liverpool haven't had Champions League football in years on my game, actually I don't think they ever have since I started nearly 20 years ago and I've seen them hover over the relegation zone until about April when they seem to hit some form and finish mid table.

Newcastle currently in the relegation zone on mine with a few months left, I can't see them staying up with the 16 points they have. Everton got relegated a few years back too.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*

Think it might've been my Eastleigh -> Wolves save last year when Newcastle got relegated to League 1 pretty quickly (like within maybe 8 years of the start of the save). I think Villa or West Ham might have been down there as well. Was probably my favourite save i've ever done on FM.
