Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
Quick question, if I'm set to ex-international is it more likely I'll be considered for top tier jobs than as say an amateur footballer on past experience? I know it effects team talks etc wasn't sure if that status effected chances of getting employed

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
If you all remember I started my Football Manager adventure as Tottenham when it first come out, I am now up to the 2023/2024 season and after great success mid way through with multiple Premier League wins, Champions League wins, the odd FA Cup and Carling Cup win I find myself coming short in the Premier League, I haven't won it in 6 years in fact.
So far this season, only 12 games gone but I am in 2nd place and already 10 points behind Man Utd who have hit the ground running it can be said. I have tweaked the tactic here and there over the years to suit the players coming in but my away form the past 5 or so years has been terrible, drawing to the likes of Burnley or losing to Newcastle or West Brom away when before those were games I'd go to and pick up 3 points.
My team also ship a shit load of goals. I was wondering how to tighten up the defence a bit, any ideas?

Props to you for getting that far, on 12 i could not get past 2017 perhaps even with united and i would barely make it past 2014/15 with a team not named Man United.
Funnily enough Spurs were always the team i wanted to have a 10+ season career with and try and over throw the likes of united, arsenal, liverpool etc.

I'm really enjoying it. More than I thought I would. I like to leave a legacy so to speak. I get the most enjoyment out of Football Manager by building and re-building squads. I stuck with the first 11 for about 5 years until some players were dropping off and retiring, I only bought youth and the occasional starter I needed like Willian who was a brilliant servant to the club also.
Funnily enough, when the players started dropping off and I started re-building with the talent I have now I have found began to find the problems such as struggling to win away, conceding silly goals etc. so maybe I just need a new tactic all together. It certainly isn't the players, I have some really really good players and I have spent a lot of cash in bringing some of them in too.

That's boss that, CM.
I got to 2015 with Everton on this years but my save corrupted and since then I'm just not feeling it.
You've motivated me to boot one up and stick it out.

Re: *Official Football Manager Discussion Thread*
I was torn between starting at a lower level club and sticking it out as a one club manager and see how far I can get until FM14 comes out but I decided to opt for Tottenham instead. If I do ever get bored of managing Spurs though or the unthinkable happens and I get sacked for some reason then I'll probably stay on this save and just accept a job at another club and just keep it going and re-starting my journey through a new club and have new ambitions.
